Just got back, with aching ribs. We were team HBGT, aka Mick (Heebeegeetee) and Colin who bent the kart. Which meant he was no quicker than me, for a change.

Thanks to all, it was a great night.

He passed you as well? Bloomin hell he must have been shifting! He overtook me, and then dipped the clutch on a roundabout and went sideways around it, before powering out and passing this stoopid scooter!

TOP MAN! thumbup

not really i was doing about 40 not to loose my G/F and he passed saftley with due care and attention, just thought it was funny him blasting past seconds after I warned him about not going too fast down that road.

Excellent night. Cheers Karl & Gary beer

I was in the Yorks (worst name ever by the way, StuB's fault) & was quite happy with 8th overall taking into account there was some decent competition out there.

These karts ain't really built for 6 foot 14 stone people are they. The difference the little guys got down the straights was amazing. Salads the order of the day in training for the next one.

Don't it make you sick that them motorbike guru's are also sh!t hot in a kart as well. That Cal did seem to be having his own private battle with the other bikers which was great to watch yes

Top effort again. Definately up for the next one.

Hobo.

Excellent night, The lads web sites, if anyones interested in who the competition was!

I think it was Burnie who overshot the Circuit Entrance when we got there, i thought he had gone through a puddle but realised it was Tire smoke! Good lad, drives his car like a car should be driven.
Did anyone notice Gary going back to the Hog Roast on more than one occasion??????

Hi All,

Me and the lads had a fantasic night out, all of us have some aches and pains to speak of(not sure if thats the karting, or from laughing at our efforts at keeping up with other people).
Once again many thanks to Karl and Gary for organizing, top night.

so pictures, I left Bev (my mate steve's wife) in charge of my camera but only managed to get about 25 photo's.. .. .. .. darn.

I got at PFI and the rain had gone, sky was clear but the ground was VERY wet.

the track soon dried up and after the practice laps it was about 90% clear.

We get ready to start

and they're off!

it was like a mini lemans, racinf into the dark

when we finished we had a whole hog to get through.

then had a drink at the TorsionBar

the pics I got of the winners are poo but Ill post anyways.
3rd place, Karl and Cal

2nd place, Steve and Chris

1st place, Ballistic (aka the stig)

would like to thank adrian for the hospitality,

i think my well honed physical state was a slight advantage here cos my ribs aint aching too much today (extra padding you see)

that was extra pAdding Karl, NOT pUdding

I'd also like to add my thanks to the organisers and to all the drivers, I was very impressed with the standard of driving. Some of the shunts as the light went and it got damp and slippy off line were brilliant. Might have caused more than aching ribs - sore neck anyone?

It's always fun meeting up with other PHers aswell. Nice to meet so many of you southern shandy drinking types

When's the next one? Anyone know how I can catch amoebic dysentry for a week so I can get down to less than 200lb? It might make me at least 1/10th a second a lap quicker, so it'd be worth it.

Sorry for the Yorks team name BTW. We had a none Yorks 'ringer' in our team too, but apparently his grandfather once drunk a pint of Tetley's, so that's ok.

Sylv and I will be going to Cadwell BSB bank holiday Monday on the bike. It was great to see the superbike riders there too, competitive as hell and sooooo tiny. Loved it when I let Skyline through, followed by Stalker and Cal for Cal to then T bone Chris at turn 3 and lose half a lap to the eventual winner. Big up to Skyline too. Bet he's aching in more places than anyone else. I think there should be a more severe penalty for 'teams' of 1 in future though.

Thanks again.

Thanks to all the organisers and everyone else for making such a great evening. Thoroughly impressed with circuit, having never been there or to such a karting ciruit I was amazed at the professionalism of it all. Despite being shown up by all you 'better' kart racers, everyone in my team really enjoyed it and all have asked when the next one will be, you let us know and i'm sure I could fill at least two karts next time.

Sorry I didn't socialise a bit more I was trying to keep my team happy, a couple had driven more than 100 miles to be there so I thought it only proper.

T'was a good turnout, better than expected. I was gob smacked how quickly that hog roast disappeared, although it was a proper hog roast, not the usually fatty garbage they serve at motorport events.

Great meet, great competiton, great people.

Thanks again.

I woke up this morning, and thought 'WOW I'm not actually in that much pain - GREAT!'

Now I'm in ing agony! It hurts to put my arms straight and my hands are stiff. And my ankle is killing. It felt so bad last night. Reason behind that is because I broke my ankle and leg a few years ago and had to have screws and a plate in there. Now it goes stiff every-so-often, and having to hold it at a set position last night wrecked it!

....thanks for organising a great event. The hog roast was yummy. Thanks to Polar for buddying up with me. I have never done anything like that before, it was amazing the amount of grip those carts have when the tyres warm up! After a few initial spins i realised that braking had so be done gingerly and only in a straight line. I would love to do it again. Those front runners certainly knew there way around a cart and how to get some truely stunning laptimes out of them! I'm sure ours had a dodgy clutch, road biased set up and an engine running down on power laugh
