Like I said, I was a lad in shorts when I last went - by train from Mablethorpe (that's somewhere else I went back to recently, it hasn't improved...)
Thanks for the warnings, think I'll give the Goose Fair a miss.
it's a shame I suppose, because it has such a romance from my youth.. collect conkers, go to goose fair, get candy floss, go on the waltzer, pizza hut or showcase on the way back home... Thanks for the warnings, think I'll give the Goose Fair a miss.
I took a GF there 2 years ago and it was terrible, badly laid out, chock-full of ne'er do wells and general malevolent looking people from the meadaahs/bestwood etc really expensive and just a bit soulless
I had been looking forward to it for months as well!
the girl I took was french, she had NO idea what to make of it

Ah that time of year.
I went to the riverside fair once, and went on one of the rides. My shoulders were too big for the restraints to go over so I got my token back to get my money back, only I never handed mine in.
End result = £3 better off.
Exploitation. You gotta love it.
did that give you a warm glow inside?I went to the riverside fair once, and went on one of the rides. My shoulders were too big for the restraints to go over so I got my token back to get my money back, only I never handed mine in.

I will be going on sat night. Its an annual thing for me and the wifey as I proposed to her on the bungee thing 10 long years ago.
Also just wondering drove back to Nottingham from Lincoln tonight and saw a very bright spotlight being shone into the sky. Presume it was from Goose fair but I could see it from the outskirts of Lincoln. Is this legal? It was slowing the traffic down alot as everyone was gawping at it trying to work out where it was coming from.
