might give it a miss this week, looks abit wet.

As for the bloody MFN............ sorry, but bike night is nothing but total misery for us here in Brinsley - have you tried getting a baby to sleep when what sounds like the IOM TT is racing past your house with little or no regard for the 30mph limit in the village?

Sorry to rant, but we dread Wednesday nights now between March and October because of the bike nights frown
Ahh i feel your pain mate, i live near the a610 nuthall island end so we have the same on sunday nights! lol but in MFN's defence they sometimes do have good bands on though!

The "deal" with this car is it has evolved over the past 25 years its been parked under trees and never washed the black mould growing on it was once green! luckily for the owner (who is a mate of mine) the "rat" look is trendy now. Some people spend many hours of work to get their cars looking half as ratty as this one, not knowing this has taken no work just years of abuse laugh

There's nothing 'standard' about those louvres on the bonnet! At that age it'd be a MKIV and should have a 1300cc under there but the louvres may indicate a 'v' of some sort?

thanks for the support smile I thought I'd get shot down in flames for having a go at reckless speeders with noisy exhausts on here lol (but this is a proper car forum, not chavs r us wink )

Great pics ims101, will have to try and make the next one - Phill got stuck in traffic due to a smash on the M1 so didnt get home till gone 7pm on Wednesday, would have been too late to come over by then.

Having just moved into the area - I will be attending these from now on - nothing better than mixing my new local pub with warm weather, my car, even more cars and likeminded petrolheads! Are only classic cars allowed? Or are modern classic/muscle cars also allowed?

No theres often a good mix of classic and more modern / muscle / american stuff every time. Its a good event.

If you are new, then you might not know theres also a meet at the Scout ground in Calverton on the first Wednesday of the month. Its unfortunate that this clashes with the Papplewick meet which is the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays.

I'm sure you will enjy both. The Calverton one is, I think, more popular with the tuning / modified crowd and not so much the older classic but you would be welcome at both.

Be prepared for a long wait at the bar though - it gets busy

I've been known to lower the tone with my Monaro before now hehe

It's a very varied crowd down there, anything goes really.

Thanks for the heads up on the Calverton meet - I didn't know about that one. I will probably try both of them out in the coming months. What time does the Calverton one start and what time does the Papplewick one start?

They are both from 6.00pm until.... well until it gets dark really. Plenty do turn up promptly at 6.00 so dont delay - there is no chance of being Billy no Mates at the beginnng.

Thanks for that - appreciated - will probably make my way down to the next one then at 6pm. May see you there! P.S: - the infamous Hartge H28 E30 will probably frequent these with me too! hehe
