For the ones who are up for it I've been out and about today and got a cruise route of abot 20 miles that ends up at the Bubble. I have done TULIP maps (for a laugh!) If not we can just go directly there []

I'm really looking forward to this, good cross section of cars coming, I am not interested in the bubble meet at all, so will probably actually find it really interesting. Also a fair few PHers that I really want to meet and say 'Hi' to as well.

Maybe an opportunity for a good drive too later in the day, and a late pub lunch/early dinner or something.

Although I won't be giving it big guns as its running as smooth as a washing-machine full of house bricks at the moment

Its in dire need of a tune up and no time to get it done before the weekend.

Can someone tell me where Donnington services is? Last time i arranged to meet somone there I went to the services on the A50 just before J24 only to be told Donnington services was somewhere else. I presume its on the M1 - is it before or after J24 (heading south)?

On the M1, just north of the a42(m42) turn, I think thats the one. Probably about J24/25.

Question to Midlands forumers -
am I welcome to a meet in the Westfield when I get it SVA'ed???

If you have a Westfield you need all the friends you can get.

Course you're welcome.

Why not come in any car you can lay your hands on it's not about cars it's about people!

Donington Services are not actually on the motorway. Come off at the M1 junction and either follow the signs for the services or for the E Midlands airport. From the A50 you need to go over the motorway (round the roundabout) and when you come back over the motorway keep to the left and take the first left off. Then follow the road (about 1/2m) to the next roundabout which the services are off. On entering we will be in the left hand corner as you enter

So the services are actually on the A50, heading toward Derby/Uttoxeter?

Nope they are on the A453/ A42 junction. Look on multimap (put in castle donington) and you can see that they are adjacent to the MI but not on it

Oh dear.....this should be interesting then

Right, is it a Shell one at least? I think we may be talking about the same place, just me getting the road wrong.....I asked mmy mate (he might pop along in his Corrado VR6) and he thought it was on t e A50 too...

Any chance of linking to a Multimap that shows it?

Junc 23a of the M1, or if come off at Junc 24, at roundabout follow signs for the Nottg'm East Mids Airport, services are at the top of the next slip road.

The services are exactly where the red arrow points to above. They are NOT the A50 services !

If coming from the North, get off the M1 at junction 24 and follow the Ashby Road which goes parallel with the M1 till you get to the roundabout.

If coming from the South, get off the M1 at junction 23a. You'll come to the same roundabout.
