Can anybody suggest a decent place to get the aircon on the Honda regassed in North Bristol please, after 11 years I think it's about time it was done.

You need George at GoCool... get the system checked over by him and it can save you ££££ in the long run. He's a billiant bloke!

OK, thanks for the reccommendations guys.

But......

I was passing the local Kwik fit on the way home so popped in to ask for a price, £49.99, and no charge if they found a leak & free refill if the car needs A/C recharge as the result of a repair carried out at a later.

I thought it was actually working fairly well before I took the car in, how wrong was I.

They did a temp test with the A/C on before doing any work, air from the vents was 14c at an amibent of 16c, so very far from working OK.

They proceeded to do a re-gas, firstly emptying the old gas (0.07 kg removed) and the old lubricant (3 grams removed). Then they did a vac test at -40psi IIRC for 20mins, the vacuum held stable during this time indicating no leaks.

They finally replenished the system with 0.55kg of refrigerant and 14ml of lubricant.

The system was tested with an output air temp of 3c.

so I am actually, for once, fairly happy with the service received from Kwik Fit, my only issue being that they couldn't do a print out from the re-gassing machine as the printer wasn't woring.

Cheers for the report, which KwikFit was it? (Not that I'll stop using George but it's useful info...)

Ah, better at that than they are at alignment then wink

Also always been very good on puncture repairs.
