There's no problem with the club, after all I've just spent a week with the club in Le Mans and had a cracking time, the 'Splinter group' is just a bit of tongue in cheek fun because the 'club' members don't support anything that I organise in the area, it would be better to work together I agree I've got loads of enthusiam and ideas but I can't see it changing at the moment unless someone from the club wants to prove me wrong?..........

Hi I'm a member of the D&C club, and would be happy to support the club and other activities. Indeed looking forward to the BBWF in a couple of weekends time, but I am not certain how many of the club members for this region are on PH. Again I am new to PH (so am in serious, but happy catch up mode).

Other challenge is the length of the region as the suggestion (good one! ) is at Peninsula and I am in Falmouth. I know that is a feeble excuse, but it's a long way to go to a pub for a non-drinker (broken liver ), and I was at Peninsula about 2 weeks ago.

Now I am on PH I will be checking for suggestions and will do my best to keep up
Cheers
Phil

Please fella’s lets not go down this road again!!! The region has a meet organised for the Peninsula Open Day and also a days flying at Exeter Airport on the Sunday, so why do we have to have a Splinter Group? I'm quite sure there will be a pub involved somewhere along the line.

You also said "the 'club' members don't support anything that I organise in the area". Corin apart from Le Mans when was the last regional meet you attended? It works both ways.

Let’s not get into another slagging match on this. It does the name of TVR and the D&C region no good at all!

As John said "why can't we just do things as a club"?

There are a couple of people who can't make Sunday and there are a couple of people that don't want to go with the club, I don't see why the club has to make an issue about this easier we'll just label them SW PH meets if the word Splinter upsets people?

Slapton

Absolutely no intention of doing so Pete.

As John said "why can't we just do things as a club"?

PH is bigger than the club and although it does predominantly cater for TVR there are a lot of people scooting round in stuff like Lotus' and Porsches etc that might want to get out on a run in this area?

I hope that answers some questions.
Please, please, please, let's not cause any grief on here, there's plenty of room for anyone to do anything in this region..

For everyone who isn't offended, hopefully we are going to be able to use Tipton Garage's rolling road to get some BHP measurements before we go to lunch on the Saturday!

I will confirm this tomorrow!

Tipton Garage, Tipton St Mary - about ten minutes away from Peninsula. There's also a pub that's been recommended to me in the village called 'The Golden Lion' good tucker apparently!

Sorry to be a bore, but that's Tipton St.John, between Ottery St.Mary and Sidmouth.

Continue on the main road (A3052)past Peninsula toward Sidmouth, through Newton Poppleford, up the steep hill, then turn left by the Bowd Inn. Turn left into Tipton village after about 1 mile. You can't miss the garage/pub.

I'll vouch for the Golden Lion.

How many do you reckon on catering for at this 'shoot-out' Corin and what cost will be involved?

Pete

What I have done is book the rolling road for a couple of hours (£75) then whoever want to go on the rollers goes on and we split the cost - easy!

Corin,

I'm due to pick up my car from Peninsula on the Saturday morning, having been serviced, zorst modded and generally spoilt rotten.

I'd love to take the opportunity to see what she's got, but I'm really short on time due to a Wedding Commitment.

Any chance of being first on the rollers, subject to the car being ready of course.

I'd need to be away by 11.00 at the absolute latest or Mary will kill me.

Hello!
A couple of foreigners here, well Northampton actually. We go down to the south-west every 6 weeks or so, and stay in Honiton. We're planning to be down next weekend (24/25th) and as it sounds like there's lots going on we may take the Cerbie instead of the dull old Vectra.
Rolling road sounds like a lot of fun (and if we blow it up we can get a lift back to Northants on the back of an AA low-loader, which will save loads of £s in fuel!)
So, can we join in the fun ?
Please, please, please
