If we are prepared to drive to Dover we can get return crossings for only £50 per car.

I know we said Plymouth but this too good to miss!

Plus you can enjoy us lot!
at least 20 cars coming from Portsmouth area.

(CD, yeah I know I said I was busy, but on the phone now so this is allowed! Will get back to you though).

Still opting for Tuesday night though?

Would mean taking Tuesday off. Plus the fuel, how much further is it from Calais? For the extra cost of fuel/ taking an extra day off and arriving later/in darkness is it going to be worth it?

Just playing devil's advocate you understand, but would have thought Plymouth was still the best bet. I don't want to arrive at Dover knackered only to have a lengthy drive the other side after only an hour's stop.

But you are the Leader

I've spoken with Serby and he's not keen, he would rather spend £300 odd and go from Plymouth.

The timescales off work would have been the same, sail out on the Wednesday at 11.15 am, in Boulogne for 13.05 so we would be on site for late afternoon. The return trip on the Monday would leave France at 14.00 back in England for 13.50 (cue Back to the Future!) so that would mean home for tea on Monday.

I like the idea but will go with the majority after all there are no leaders in the Splinter Group!

In that case mate, I'm with Serby.

Would be good to go in a huge convoy, but I think it's too much hassle to organise.

If it's £300 notes or so from Guz, then it's not going to save much after fuel to go from Dover. And we'll get a 'good' night's sleep over to Roscoff

As usual im adding onto yet another already dead tread!! nothing new for me,wish i was an office boy too sometimes,my workings out were £150 for fuel up and back,no rest on the dover ferry well not much after our 5 hour drive to dover,290 mile drive home after 6 days of shandy's and 580 miles more chance of getting a problem, after all we do drive ultra reliable chariots dont we? love the idea of big convoy but the plymouth ferry crossing is only £148 each person unless we get more than 20 cars then £133 (10% discount for block bookings)and bording from 8 oclock gives us 9 hours of rest on the ferry plus getting us to le mans around dinner time with allow us a possible better pitch? that lot aside where we camping???

As the Le Mans 'virgin' I'll go with whatever, MB seems like the favourite and you have your own walking talking 'Woody' this year.

There are a load of people from my village going, a few classics, a few modern things. I will be in a supercharged mini (blue 1966 one)
