Driving Instructor for GF

Hey all,
I'm looking for a driving instructor for my girlfriend.
Does anyone know anyone half decent around Bristol who would suit someone who's only ever had a few lessons, many years ago?
Are the BSM types any better than the small, local types?
Alternatively, where is there a big open area around Bristol or Gloucestershire for her to take the wheel? The fields are a bit muddy this time of year, and 4x4 off-roading is a bit of a hairy start to motoring!
