Actually was a very busy well attended event. Not many soft tops but the weather was pretty good all morning.
Cafe as usual was extremely busy with long queues (wish they would open a drinks only till). There is a machine but the drinks are not brilliant...
Great day out though! :-)
Don't forget McD's is only 2 mins down the road. Sometimes I use the café, others I pop down the road for a muffin and come back with it.Cafe as usual was extremely busy with long queues (wish they would open a drinks only till). There is a machine but the drinks are not brilliant...

The cafe staff always seems overwhelmed as usually the museams fairly quiet... Admission includes entrance for the next 12mts and
They have a nifty area out the back with a soft play area and coin operated diggers and go-karts for kids, So we often stop off when passingfor a coffee and to knacker the little one out a bit.
Last time (a Tuesday morning in jan) there was a group of cyclists (6) in for a drink..... It was a 10 minute wait in a queue for a coffee then.

I'm surprised at that - normally on the Sunday breakfasts the queue is long, but in reality you probably won't be in it for more than 10 minutes if you actually time it.They have a nifty area out the back with a soft play area and coin operated diggers and go-karts for kids, So we often stop off when passingfor a coffee and to knacker the little one out a bit.

I will say though I think the coffees probably are the bottleneck - they are pretty quick dishing up the fried breakfasts, but the coffees take longer and have to be done one at a time.
Been on other weekends with friends though and they normally seem reasonably quick.

Cos I'm a sad bd I timed it today, from queuing at the top of the steps to sat down with breakfast was about 20 minutes - although I was hung around at the counter waiting for coffees while OH and in-laws were sat eating. We (7 owners) had considerable debate about the colour of the "primer" red Morgan (which had a Bright Red chassis underneath) Anyone know how they choose the cars to put on the lawn outside (where the Jag Project 7, Ferrari and Rover where) seemed a bizarre trio to pick for special treatment :-)
I was impressed by the eclectic mix of metal on display, far less chav mobiles and modded street cars than I expected, no bonafide Supercars but a good selection of sports cars- a beautiful old 911, a pair of great sounding street legal drag cars, a nice old TVR Vixen, a MG Midget with Suzuki Twin cam which looked nimble, a selection well worth the drive to see.
Breakfast was okay but not cheap, why they don't invest/rent in a greasy trailer to park outside flogging Bacon baps and sausage rolls I'm not sure.
