One of those Monitron extra small ones catching traffic heading into the centre at the bottom of Whiteladies road where the traffic light enforced crossroads are. Probably for catching red light jumpers but I think those scameras can also monitor speed. It wasn't there a couple of weeks ago.

Supports my theory... I've worked around there for many years and jumpers really are NOT a problem.

Speed enforcement via the back door (i.e. without needing KSI figures to back it up) is what it is!

Thanks for the link - I've bookmarked it for the future.

Did anyone get tonight's Bristol Evening Post - the headline board that I saw said 70 new camera locations for Bristol?

Noooo their are too many fing speed cameras in Bristol now.

Bugger, well the council need to get more money to spend on immagrants in the local area and houseing for pragnant 15 year olds.

bloody amazing the money we give. I'm more worried about the speed cameras and plod on the road than people who step out in front of my car.

sorry got on my high horse

and yet most nights when i am out i see chavs hoon it up the road from the patchway roundabout off the A38 towards cribbs causeway and is there a camera there?!?....no!

now if i was ever going to sign a petition in favour of a speed camera, that would be the location.

it would satisfy both groups interests, the council would get ££££ and it would slow the chavs down. So why is there not one there?!?

And I've spotted ANOTHER one on the A38 at the traffic lights on Bedminster Down opposite the Cross Hands pub. This one must go off every time the lights turn red as the traffic at these lights is very busy during rush hour and creeps over the lights on red.

Mind you, I did notice the one on Hotwells Road this evening: good position for taking pictures across the docks

Looks as though the spray paint has been active too.....

That was like that when I came in to work on early Monday morning. Must have been done either Sat or Sunday night cos it was pointing the right way on Saturday morning.

Those speeding boats better watch out now!

I think the Hotwells one is active, I live close and for a few months there have been mobile police cameras and spot-check points in the car park by Shoots Floating Restaurant. Looks like it might be a tax camera although I'm no expert.

These new smaller cameras dont seem to set off the snooper like the Gatsos do. Have they only just started to go live & that would explain it?

The Gatsos on the spine road by avon meads have never been on. They say cameras are placed at accident black spots etc but those appeared the minute that road was opened, accident black spot? The roads about 50 feet in the air there wasnt anything there before!

flip down number plate, road angel, laser jammer & keeping your eyes open is our only defence chaps

They're activated by strips in the road, so no radar to set the Snooper off

Oh, no. It is a standard speeding job with the strips in the road. Tax cameras have 2 units mounted close together.
