New key for 2011 Passat

So I've lost a key for our 2011 Passat, SWMBO isn't very happy, and I need to get it sorted. No problem I thought, I'll get a how to, grab a new key, and fire up VagCom... NOPE!!! Welcome component level security. Without spending around £1500 on new kit, I'm not doing this myself; can anybody recommend someone in the Bristol (ish) area that can do it? I've spoken to VW, they want £300!!!

Have you tried googling ‘auto locksmith bristol’?

I can’t recommend one local to you but I had one done for about £85 at a local auto locksmith a couple of years ago, again I was quoted £300 plus by dealer.

Yep, Lock City came last week (they have good reviews) but said they couldn't connect to something and would be back in a couple of hours... alas they didn't return, so I'm looking for companies people have used!
