So how did it shape up?
Ok. We met at BSB in the centre at lunchtime to watch F1 and then had a few, wandered over to the Italian which was very nice and very Italian. In the evening we went to 'The Cove'(?) which was nice but quiet, then we went to the Slug which was ok and then over to Vodka Rev which was lively but a bit young. Ended up at Popworld which was way too young and I bailed whilst my 2 mates stuck it out for a couple of hours.

Overall not a bad night but the place needed a bit more investigation (a lot of which I did by walking back in the wrong direction!) to we find somewhere lively but not too young, if such places exist.

Clifton would have probably struck the right balance, lively, but with an average punter age of 30-40 instead of 18-30

Might try that area next time, thanks

Nobody mentioned The Hatchett, disappointing smile.

Went into Bristol tonight. Got the bus so had to walk via Christmas Steps to get to our planned destination Zero Degrees (which would have been worth a mention on here as well). Walked past some great looking places en route to it. I forget about how much choice we have in Bristol.

Sorry you ended up in Popworld! I have had a couple of fun nights there but probably not so much these days!

Isn't that still a bit goth/fetishy? (not that that's a bad thing...)

Wow, used to drink in there before gigs at the Academy, not a bad pub at all.

My favourite Bristol pubs are probably the Lansdown, the Mall and the Hope and Anchor... but tbh pretty much all the pubs in Clifton are worth a visit.
