Even better option is come off m5 junc 26 , head back towards taunton and you've got sheppys cider on the right and rumwell farm shop on your left .
Lockdown apart, have you been to Rumwell lately? Used to be our favourite but no longer.
Prices went up, portions went down.
Sheppys not as good as Willowbrook in my opinion, tried it several times and found the service to be poor and food only "OK".
I now really want a full breakfast...... Cooked by someone else

Resting on their laurels in my opinion. Rumwell has never been a pile it high cheap greasy spoon .
As you're local, have you tried Paisleys Farm Shop at Nether Stowey? Good value and excellent food.
Until we were locked down though, our absolute favourite had become The Tea Room in Bath Place (Taunton).
Top quality and generous portion at a fair price.

It is really local to me so will keep an eye out for when they re-open
Any news re. Hillside? I'm popping down to Warminster on Sunday in the TR, might drop in if they're open. (Would make the early start more bearable.)Yertis said:

The "American Diner" nearer to the Sparkford Roundabout than Wayne's isn't bad.
I would say here also!http://www.mattiadiner.co.uk/
Have eaten there often and the food is good and well priced
