Anyone else hear a massive ‘boom’ around 3pm? Thought it must be a jet going through the sound barrier, but was less of a ‘crack’ and more of a ‘thud’. Was big whatever it was.

I heard it in the Purbecks! It was loud enough to be alarming, much louder than the usual bangs from Bovington or the quarries.

I assumed it was a (I actually thought 3) sonic boom.

DevonLive are saying that the RAF said it was nothing to do with them. Apparently in Dorset people felt a shockwave, 30s of reverberations, and popping noises.

I’m now wondering if someone perhaps started up an Aston Valkyrie.

Think that’s a good theory. Either that or the aliens from Oumuamua are back...

I bet there's a new variant on it.

Martian strain.
