Alternator bench test near Swindon

Does anyone know where I can get an alternator bench tested near Swindon? I tried Halls Electrical, but they don't have bench test kit anymore.

Donald Day in Wroughton used to do all sorts of electrical stuff, particularly for vintage cars, but he was getting on a bit when I last had need for his assistance many years ago, so not sure if he's sill going.

I had the alternator refurbed there about 5 or 6 years ago and I think they do a good job, I was hoping for somewhere closer as I don’t get over that direction very often. It seems that testing stuff and only replacing if broken is going out of fashion. Compare that with the stories you hear from the US that every Autozone or car shop can test an alternator. The dealer seemed to think it could only be tested in the car, so I tried a few voltage tests and couldn’t get a voltage higher than just over 12 and dropping, so I gave up and ordered a new alternator. I will see in a day or two if it fixes the issue.
