I was going to head up to Refuel. Glad I didn’t. Sounds like it all went a bit Pete Tong. I hope they make some positive process. I’ll just stick to Cornwall for now. Simon

They won't do that. All they want is the £££ with minimal outlay. They're hoping their overpriced cafe will end up being some regular petrol heads meeting place.

I only went to one Refuel and that was when it was a Mansell Raceway. Even then there was a strong undertow of farty exhausts on "lower than yer nan's tits" BMW/Mercedes/Vauxhalls all trying their best to lay down rubber on arrival and leaving.

Re:Fuel at the Mansell Raceway was always pretty strict on driving standards, with Marshalls and signage and i'm sure i saw on their social media they banned some people for driving like idiots.

The clientele is a tricky one to control. Obviously as a business they want numbers and they can't discriminate against particular cars/modifications. Add to that, that the younger crowd with stboxes/chavved up stuff are more active in the car meet world, it is really an impossible task to ensure all visitors are nice people.

Indeed. The problem is exacerbated by their current location. That road is well used and is much closer to residential property in both directions.

Just need the local plod to turn up a couple of times and perhaps do a few PNC checks for VED and insurance. That would stop a lot of antisocial behaviour.

The marque specific meets seem to be better balanced from what we have seen. But we won't go to a 'free for all' day again. I am sure others feel the same way.

There was an incident yesterday, some pr!ck overtook the queue and drifted around the corner beyond the cafe. We could see pedestrians on the path as he did it... He then returned and did wheel burnouts all the way past the queue (we were in it at the time). We immediately left as we don't want our cars smashed into.... I heard that several people complained and I saw Refuel posted a snapshot on FB asking for ID and witnesses.... he was instantly identified by one of his mates (karma) and the post removed...... his profile had photos of his drifting car.... what a tool. I hope he is banned and I hope they make an example of him.

I heard a story that someone did similar outside Haynes at one of their breakfast meets years ago, then when they tried to drive n the lady on the gate told them to leave as they were not welcome, the driver replied with.."do you own the place or something?" to which he was greeted with a "yes I do actually!" apparently it was the owners wife

I try to always remember being 17 when a hatch back with 100hp was a hot bit of kit. Now we’re use to 500bhp.The car doesn’t matter in my eyes, but the attitude of the owner does. You can be respectful and considerate and drive a £1,000 car that’s your pride and joy. Just as anyone as old and wrinkly as me has probably met a total tool running around in a £400,000 motor. It’s a very tough trick weeding out those that want to be what they see as a You Tube hero. Possibly “car people” welcoming plod attendance at some of these events might not be a bad thing.

I’ve only been a couple of times. First time all was good. Second time the were plonkers driving stupidly out of the site and some even turning around to buzz past again. I feel for the business as they have limited control over that, but I for one support the venue banning plonkers. All the poor actions I whitenesses were in stereotypical cars. All the “serious” (for want of a better term) cars I saw left sensibly to help preserve the venue. I guess when you have serious performance you don’t need to make a song and dance, only the wannabe You Tube hero’s.

Good turnout this morning and great to have sunshine despite the bitterly cold wind, even managed to get brekkie without too much of a wait.

Hill Top Farm Shop meet near Camelford on Sunday morning. Just a heads up. It’s a modest meet but just sharing for anyone that might be interested.

Farrington Farm shop (Farrington Gurney) had a car meet this morning was really well attended and amazingly...free !!

Think, given the turnout this may end up being a regular thing now

Wrong side of bristol for me but a decent drive out.. who/how is it organised? Will keep a look out.

There’s an evening meet at Redhill I posted about last year, looking forward to those again in the spring.
