I have been lucky enough not to have picked up any scratches at Queens Square. I thought that as most people attending were also car people then they knew to take care. Is it now so popular that too many non car people are turning up and causing the damage?
I think you are quite right but I also think there are people with kids they are not in control of and even quite possibly an element there that actually deliberately damage cars.

I wont go into detail but the nature of the damage being IDENTICAL on both sides of the car leads me to believe that it may have been deliberate and not just carelessness.

That's awful news. Hope you can get it sorted without too much trouble.

I missed today, mainly because I forgot and partly because I wanted a lie in regardless of what happened in the world.

However if cars are getting scratched, I'll bring the MX-5 to the next few events. I'd rather not get the TVR keyed by some jealous prick/George Ferguson (one and the same, I'd imagine).

I was there for a few hours this morning. A great selection of cars, as usual. I have not been for a few months and what I did notice was that there seemed to be a lot of people there who did not seem car types, they just seemed to be randoms who turned up for a free show. I had to speak to one family as they were leaning against a car having a chat, and no the car was not theirs.

That was a beautifully put together bit a machinery! The Square was jam packed today wasn't it? A brilliant morning all round.

Yes exactly!! That is how my car came to be damaged there last month. I had to tell another guy to keep his hands off it today. Tbh I am seriously considering not going again. I just don't get why people think it is ok to touch, lean on, sit on, fiddle with ANY of the cars that are there?

Well done on having a word with that family, more people need to do the same quite frankly.

I spent some time looking at your car on Sunday. I wanted to touch the side panels to see how rigid they were but I didn't. I suspect that others in attendance were not so reserved.

Much appreciated. If you had managed to catch me I'd have been happy to oblige, at least by asking I would then know you are sensible enough to be taken seriously. I'm even happy for people to sit in it etc but not unless I am there to help them in and out and to talk through stuff etc. I have even been known to take people for rides evilbiglaugh

I had at least TWO pairs of eyes on it at all times after last time. Shame it has to be like that though really.

I would have asked but don't know what you look like! Next time wear a pink carnation.

There are a few issues.
As it`s so busy I double parked, left my car window open and obviously unlocked, so that if the car needed to be moved it could. I have been blocked in previously and had to wait about an hour before I could leave, no sign of the owner, no mobile number, little consideration.
This Sunday I took WPU264, sit up and beg Anglia, bit dog eared so happy for it to be moved a bit, so I could have a look around the Square. I have had the cloth roof poked with an umbrella stay before, trafficators lifted etc.
I tend to keep an eye on the car from nearby, sit in by invitation.
