I really enjoyed myself this evening. Met lots of new people and ended up chatting for ages. There certainly was an eclectic mix of cars, but as far as I saw everyone behaved themselves.
It was good to bring the Caterham out for its first Bournemouth meet. It certainly got a lot of positive comments, even if one person did call it a kit car!! Grrrr! I don't know if anyone got any good photos of it between that stunning Lotus Esprit and the Lamborghini? It was getting a bit dark though.
Thanks for organising it Bart, I hope it wasn't too stressful this evening.

I was meaning to chat to you about your Tamora today. I also have the blue Chimaera which I brought along last month, I'm currently tempting my friend into buying a Tamora. We were admiring your car this evening.
Huge turnout and the majority of the shenanigans were reserved until the golfists were safely tucked-up in bed.
With the missus at home last night, and a little encouragement, I think I might have pulled a little wheelspin
I must say, Bart's GTR is looking stunning in it's new colours, good choice that man
Here's a vid of the pics I took, being quite dark, not all the pics came out too well but here's the ones that did

it's a bloody expensive factory built car! Thanks though!

I know! Looks really nice.
Depending on what your friend has already, the Tam would be an excellent choice. Driver friendly, planted, quick. Just need a bit more power
Morning all...
Apologies to anyone that I had a very brief moment to catch up with, I ended up being pulled around all over the place trying to keep on top of things.
There were in excess of 200+ cars and probably nearer 250 people in attendance, certainly waaayyyy more than I was anticipating. I had a meeting with the venue manager later that evening and fortunately I can say that they were actually keen to have the event continue but with more of a collaboration with them in the organisation. I have to agree with them on some of their ideas as with the interest with the event now, it makes sense for all involved. Although not set in concrete the next meet will probably feature the following:-
I'd really appreciate some feedback on it from those in attendance as to what they feel would work well - then I can hopefully put that into action for the future.

- Top car park (grass area) will be for those that pre-register. I want this to be simple though in as much that it will be managed through here via people responding to the thread with their vehicle. It also means it will remain as a bit more of a 'show' area for things of interest.
- For those that do not pre-register for the top car park there will be a small entry fee at the gate for parking. This is more to encourage those from Facebook etc to share lifts or perhaps consider parking elsewhere. No disrespect to any vehicles in attendance last night, but when you see a 25ft Merc Sprinter show up to 'have a look around' the event it kind of shows the need to control the parking.
- The parking fee will also cover the buffet / Pizza and a free drink though, so not a bad deal if you ask me.

Last night has forced me out of PH retirement!
I have to say I wasn't quite expecting to see some of the quality that was on show last night. Absolute highlights for me were the crazy Viper, the organisers' stunning Ultima and the beautiful Mexico, oh and small mention for what was the tidiest 635CSi I've think ever seen outside (it was dark by the time I ambled to that part though) and an equally tidy Alfa 75 and of course Catfoods 'regularly used' unmolested Cossie.
Nice to meet those that I did!

Hi guys, this was my first meet. I've been on on Piston Heads for a short while but don't come on here much. With that in mind, I only found out about the meet via the Facebook event page.
I have to say I had a great time, there was so many cars that you are unlikely to see out about in Bournemouth, sonic was nice to see them here.
After hearing a few cars revving their engines and the burnouts when leaving, I was sure the golf club wouldn't be happy and end your meets.
I think it's only fair for what they are asking if it allows BCM to continue there.

Long time reader first time poster…
I thought with the volume and variety of cars it could have gone very differently and people generally behaved themselves.
Bart I agree with your comments when you start getting that number of cars you need the co-operation of the venue. Interested to see how long it lasts when golfers start complaining they can’t get to the pitch on a Monday night! Having said that it is only once a month…
Looking forward to the next one!

The only piece of feedback i could give would be directed at 1 or 2 of the burnouts that took place. I understand that burnouts / driving off quickly is a good addition to a meet however personally i think these drivers went a bit silly. For example a orange BMW began a burnout in the main car park area, he ending up narrowing missing me and a few other groups with the back end still out going way too fast! This was at the start of the main car park.
Ive seen people like this recently on the net and theres some pretty horrific outcomes!
Apart from this i highly enjoyed the evening.

I thought the evening went really well, the worrying was unnecessary. Your proposal sounds like a great idea to me. It makes no difference whether I pay to park and eat, or just eat! I would like a permanently reserved parking spot in the top car park for the Caterham/TVR/VX220 though!
Out of interest, is there a link to the forum or FB page which was being discussed?
PS. I took my glass back to the bar
