Last hurrah, drive out in the sun...

We (Lotus Anoraks) meet at the Seven Stars in Stroud, good car park the restaurant is always busy/full so I guess the food must be good as we are having our Christmas Dinner there. It's on the A272 near Petresfield good roads but remember the sneaky revenue raisers that frequent the odd village.
If you head through thee legged cross, the B3081 is a nice road and takes you (eventually) to zigzag hill - I imagine would be epic in an ultima! There's a few little pubs in the villages the other side of the hill, or if you keep going, you end up in Sherbourne where there's a castle and a few pubs dotted around. Never been to the castle (or the pubs!) but it looked quite nice on the occasions I've been through it!

Thinking of taking Mrs Bart out in the Ultima for a spot of lunch somewhere around Dorset / Hampshire. Any good recommendations that include a nice driving route?
If you plan to be out early (always a good idea on a Sunday), then you could :-a) join us heading for Goodwood V-Power brekkie club (departing Christchurch 06:15 I think!), and have a lovely lunch at Rownhams Services on the way back...
b) head for breakfast at Cafe Oasis, Overcombe, Weymouth; they have a small car park but they're right on the beach overlooking the bay/Jurassic Coast. Perfect destination for an early morning hoon but make sure you get a car park ticket as they do check apparently. Follow it with a stroll on the beach then on up the coast road to West Bay for lunch?
Or just head for lunch at Cafe Oasis and hope you get lucky with the parking...
You could terrorize the Purbeck roads and Lulworth Cove on the way there or back or both.
BTW, I'd steer clear of Lyme Regis in the Ultima at the moment though; there's a road closure in the town centre and diversions via some single-track (but 2-way!) back-streets.

I drove that route the other week, and then on to the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford. I can't remember where, but the road was in a shocking condition in places.Dave2P said:

I'd bloody love to come along tomorrow Dave, but I have my last round of the race series I'm in! We escaped the worst of the traffic today and headed to the Worlds End for a spot of grub - bloody lovely fooda) join us heading for Goodwood V-Power brekkie club (departing Christchurch 06:15 I think!), and have a lovely lunch at Rownhams Services on the way back...
