My girlfriend's parents live in Wellow, neat Yarmouth. We live near Lymington, so often get the Lymington to Yarmouth ferry to visit them. We usually cycle, too expensive to take the car!
I went on a date with someone on the IOW...most expensive first date I had! £40 in fuel and then £45 return on the ferry on a motorbike! Was only there for 90 minutes!

I’m a caulkhead by birth....but escaped and live in Leicester. Lucky enough to have a place in Shorwell, try to get down when we can, still have family down here. It is a slower pace of life, for sure!
Must admit I do fancy a campervan....maybe I should look around here!!

Ha! Never knew that....I have noticed Leicester has improved beyond recognition over recent years....I guess winning the PL and finding a the car park (I used to park in when I worked at LCC!) can do that!
Pan Estate....quality! I did survive Downside Middle School, but grew up in Wootton.

Down on the Island now, it is a peaceful place smile

I've been a regular visitor to the Island since I was a kid. Decided to buy a little bolt-hole over there a few months ago - 5 minute drive from Yarmouth.

Love the beaches, the walks, the pubs, the relaxed feel and a litte frustrated I can only get over there every other weekend at the moment !.

Did you know, if you have an IOW council tax bill, you can take it to Wightlink, £273 buys ten car crossings, to be used any time any route.

yes

The letter's already been sent off with proof of address for the multi-pack.

We've also got the Red Funnel discount codes plus return journeys from Lymington which are capped at £69.

A case of looking at price and availability for our preferred crossing times and seeing which is cheapest.

I recall you looking at Shorwell: was it the place that recently caught fire? http://www.iwcp.co.uk/news/16102221.Devastating_Sh...
That had only recently finished being done up: lots of scaffolding round it now whilst they repaid (whole roof went). Not sure what the cause was: might have been electrical, possibly the fireplace?

I’d forgotten the Wightlink deal. Looks like they have to be bought at a Wightlink office in person? Since my journeys tend to start from the mainland, maybe I’d need to book a single next time we are down then buy it on the Island. It does say Island Residents or Homeowners....be nice to buy from Portsmouth or Lymington on our way down next time, wonder if that might work?
