Come visit me on Friday!!
Discussion
Nowt to do with cars - although, everything is really to do with cars!
I've just bought a micropub in Christchurch. Gulp. Currently The Saxon Bear, bring renamed this week to The Saxon Bar.
For those that don't know, a micropub is essentially a small pub, that specialises in well kept real ale (it doesn't have a brewery attached). No piped music, no machines, snacks only and no cooked food (we do allow people to bring food from local takeaways, such as the Indian next door, Chinese across the road, and Pizza Hut round the corner).
It's about good company, good conversation, and good ale. Speaking of which...
We have four cask ales, two key-keg ales (one a craft lager), and a good selection of still ciders. Wine, gin, and a selection of spirits too.
There is no dedicated car park, but it is right next door to Waitrose in Fountain Way - so for the princely sum of about £1.30, evening time provides lots of parking.
It's not a bad place for small gatherings, car related or otherwise; I'll be offering it up for meetings of the TVR Car Club (not promoting heavy drinking and driving - especially in the silly beast that is a TVR ) which will give me an excuse to take the money-pit to work.
Anyway, as it's a currently operating business I'm not having a hard re-opening, just a few days off to sort out stock with the current owner - then opening the doors with me flying solo!
So if you are in Christchurch on Friday, from about 4pm, come and say hi to me, or my two team members Ollie and Jared.

Well, we did visit on Friday and had a fantastic evening. Well done, Lee and Jules and good luck with this new venture.
Richard, it was so good to see you and the ladies last night; thank you so much for supporting us on our opening night. It was a gas, I had a great time! The two lads, Ollie and Jarad worked their socks off.Tell Lottie that I'll happily take her guidance on gins, as I build the stock. As long as she comes in and helps drink it!
Hope to see you soon, Sir.

Good luck Lee. I had 30 years in the brewing industry so understand the challenge you are facing.
You sound like you are on the right track.
Thanks Martyn. It's a hard, but great, lifestyle change. You sound like you are on the right track.
BTW I'm guessing that by your PH name you enjoy popping clays, or possibly something that you could put on the table.
