Someone on here used to organise the meets at the driving range in Castle Lane, must have been back in 2014/15... They were very popular, and some great kit showed up. Not sure why it hasn't continued.
Good afternoon,

That was I (Bart)! smile

I moved out Dorchester way a year or so ago and as such organising the event each month at a venue that I sadly never frequented made no sense. However, the small village I live in has a lovely Pub and they would be more than willing - just sadly parking wise I think we would only see around a maximum of 25 cars.

I'm interested in creating a similar monthly meet though utilsing the Worlds End, that would be an ideal location and good drive too.
I'd be interested in a meet at the Worlds End pub as its not far from me. Sadly, I currently drive a very old Ford Focus, so not really got anything to "show off" but love talking cars with fellow anoraks and car enthusiasts....also have a fondness for H & W Tanglefoot (served at said pub) but obviously not when driving!!

The events I used to run were welcoming to all! Petrol heads are petrol heads in our books... smile

I did end up at a Supercar evening on the last Wednesday of the month at Cobbs Quay last summer. That seemed to be gathering momentum. Some more poseurs that real enthusiasts, but a very good night nonetheless. I'd imagine they'll start up again as the season approaches.

The World's End is a stones throw from where I live. I would also be interested.

Is 'The Worlds End' open right now? I passed it this morning and it looked to be surrounded by scaffolding and very much not open. I had to partake of breakfast at the Botany Bay Inne instead!

hmm..nothing on the website. BTW, the trip advisor reviews are a bit awful. TBH, the last time I visited that pub the service was a bit lacking...shame, as in the early 90s it was probably my favourite pub in the whole of Dorset.

I've never been to the Botany Bay inn, but that's a good shout. The Coventry Arms, which is further along the A31 towards Wimborne is also a good alternative for anyone out for a drive in that sort of area......

Heh I used to live practically next door to the Coventry Arms. It's only recently reopened, however it's car park is normally flooded at times like this.

I had no idea it was closed - I need to get out more often!

tbf, my neck of the woods is West Moors and Ferndown so I don't venture "west" that often..

Unfortunately it looks like it went through a rough patch last year. It's under new management so I hear. I loved living next to it, nice part of the world. Pain in the arse to get onto that road from our old drive though! Always busy.

Poole Quay on a Tursday during the summer. Never been myself and there seems to be a few issues with some of the groups that go.

I think it's the last Wednesday of the month during the summer as well there is one in Henstridge Air Field. Get to go down the runway at whatever speed you want.

There are a couple of other groups on Facebook. Personally I'd avoid them. Their riding is very questionable to say the least. Only a matter of time before someone dies on the ride out.
Agreed on the greasy spoon run, but there are a couple of clubs that ride absolutely fine.

I too personally don't like riding with the locals or big groups, but can always meet up.
