Slightly niche posting but wondered if anyone else has to try and negotiate the total clusterfk they've made of the lanes now on the roundabout at this junction ?
Specifically I'm talking about if you're coming from Segensworth, you now use the centre and right hand lanes on the roundabout to go round towards Portsmouth and join the M27. I've always thought this needed to happened as this is where most of the traffic is going, however as you go round the roundabout, all of those in the middle lane just stay in the middle lane and all those in the right hand lane end up fighting trying to get in otherwise they end up in the A27 lane back to Segensworth.
Won't make much sense unless you experience it regularly but just wondered if anyone else has come across it.

Has been like it a few weeks now and they have changed the markings once It was so bad.

I assume it will be sorted once the roadworks are complete, along with the wheel buckling trenches they have dug.

I drove it yesterday and it’s a total mess now. The signs and the road markings are contradictory and unless you’re in the middle lane at the turn off to Whiteley, you have to cut across the lanes to make the turning for the M27 eastbound.

Whichever idiot is responsible for it deserves a slap.

Since the roadworks started I started taking the A27 through Fareham and joining the M27 there, sounds like I’m missing out!

Segensworth to Southsea takes me 20min.

Road markings are only as good as the drivers that use it.

See also the A303 roundabout near Stonehenge: if you follow the road markings and stay in your lane you run the risk of driving in to someone!

I drove across the Whiteley junction yesterday from Segensworth to Whiteley at evening rush hour, it was no better.
In fact, drivers are now using the left hand 'Whiteley only' lane to just drive all the way round the roundabout towards M27 Portsmouth as they know it's clear, the middle lane remains absolutely rammed rolleyes

Yes it’s a piss take with people getting more aggressive each day.
