Hi all,

Myself and a few friends are going down to Bournemouth this coming weekend and want to take a few TVR's. We usually arrive very early to avoid the traffic - 8am or so.

Last year we parked in one of the town car parks, but as I'm taking the TVR I wanted to try and park it near the beach. We saw there was parking along 'Undercliff drive' but couldn't find any way to get there as the barrier near the pier was always closed.

Can anyone local confirm that parking is still available there (meters or Pay and display), and how we get on to that road! (Looking at the map it seems 'The Marina' is the access point?)

Many thanks.

You can park there but it's hideously expensive in the summer and often very busy. The access is via Boscombe Pier (about 1 mile East of Bournemouth Pier". Should be signposted and I think it is called "The Marina" these days.

You're unlikely to get parking anywhere near the beach on a busy day mid-summer.

Thanks for the info.

Last year we arrived really early (think it was 7am or so) and stayed till just after mid-day. The parking by the beach was empty until around 8-8:30am and didn't seem any more pricey than the (rather expensive) car park, so we felt really stupid not having parked there.

We'll give it a go. Let hope its nice weather
