Afternoon all! I have come across a small issue with my project 205gti. It would seem that whilst i was moving garage some prat (me clap) has managed to loose the locking wheel nut key! I was having a look last night in light of getting it onto stands for the new suspension and to my suprise, it's missing. Can anyone tell me:

1. If there are any companies out there that can remove them without wrecking the hubs?
2. If there is an easy way of doing yourself?

Any suggestions would be great!

Go get 4 wheel braces from the scrappies and weld them or get them welded onto the offending bolts wink

I'm told you can buy a tool in Halfords which kind of defeats the object of having the locknuts.

Dude,
I have had the same issue on both my 205 and my Vectra, but both times I bought the car without the locking socket. With the 205 I ground a small section of the wheel off (I know it ruined the wheel) but I then bought a second hand set of ebay cheap. It is the cheapest option. The kit from halfords dosen't fit the hole around the nut, I tryed it as well
With the Vectra I to it to a Garage next to the Vauxhall dealership in Shoreham (Frosts), not sure of the name but if you want me to find out I can, not a 100% sure but I payed approx £200

Pop in to machine mart or screw fix and ask for locking wheel nut removal tools, they are about £30 a set.

If your NUTS hehe have a sleeve that rotates around the nut its self you will have to grind the sleeve off first and then use the removal tool.

Any further help required just pm me thumbup

Cheers Dave.

Thanks for all your posts! Thankfully the wheels that are on the car are not original wheels, they are some really scabby 16" 6 spoke alloys! i left them on whilst i was doing the body work so i didn't damage the speedlines!

I'll have a look on screwfix, the company can buy me a tool idea!

Cheers guys, pictures to follow of the mess....

Ok, complete waste of £25 if you have wheel nuts with less than a 17mm end, 12mm socket and a big hammer!

You wouldn't believe how disapointed i was when i got the lock up and had a go, i got so stressed with it that the biggest hammer i had was the only way to go. Sod garages, sod special tools, spend £8 at Halfords on some cheap sockets and molest lockers until they come off! Over and Out... Next Item, 17 year old strut nuts...
