Thanks again to Simon and his team, second door I've had from him since starting this thread, great to see it still running and how many have benefitted.

As ever, fantastic service and top quality work from Prestige Garage Doors!

Thanks for your continued custom Michael. Enjoy your new door. Maybe we’ll see you again in the future if you’re ever to move again! Haha.

Leave it with me, will contact SWS Securoglide’s national sales director, and find someone reliable for you.
Hi there Doorman, just wondering if you'd be willing to do the same for me? I'm in Ashby de la Zouch which is probably a bit far for you but the SecuroGlide doors look the business. It's NW Leics but a stones throw from South Derbyshire and Staffs. The garage extension it'll go into is only just at joist height so we won't need one fitting for a couple of months yet, but the builders have asked whether the 100mm x 300mm C16 timber tintel specified by architect/structural engineer will be suitable to mount a 3.4m x 2.25m roller door on, so looking to bring a fitter into the loop sooner rather than later!

I'm new to PH but found this thread by accident and am enjoying the garage door eye candy. Finally after 12 years my old decomposing VW Type 2 will have somewhere warm to live...

Cheers,

Olly

Hi Olly, apologies, only just picked up on your post. With regret, you are a little to far out of our catchment, but I will be pleased to forward your enquiry on to the manufacturers Sales Manager, and get a recommendation for a trusted local installer.

David

Hi Dave,

That's a great help and much appreciated. I'll give him a call and say who sent me...

I think I actually cleared up my query about the timber lintel from reading the installation guide, which seems to indicate that the guiderails provide support for the end plates, which in any case in my case will be mounted inside the opening so over masonry. Given that the whole door won't be hanging off the lintel I'm therefore inclined to think that the structural engineer hasn't dropped the ball on this!

I think the builder was worried that any vibration or movement of the door could affect the lintel, but I can't see how this would be the case. I am going to upsize it though (100mm x 300mm C16) so that it matches the height of the endplates and boxing.

Thanks again and will hopefully be able to let you know how we get on in due course.

Olly

Looks good. Looking to replace 2 soon, Im in Locks Heath. Wonder if they can handle removing a pillar and putting an RSJ in so I can have one big door?

Had Prestige Garage Doors in yesterday to replace an up and over with a roller on a large double door.

Simon has helped before to keep my old door going for a year until I could afford a new one, but so glad they've done the work now. Fantastic installation, his guys were here all day yesterday and have done a fantastic job, Real credit to the company how good they were answering questions and keeping the place tidy during the day and tidying up afterwards. I'm quite fastidious about the state of my garage and I only needed to spend a minute hoovering up the last bits of dust that were left.

They also changed out an old window in my conservatory and this was the same top quality job.

Highly recommended by me.

His door is nice, but theyve had to come back twice to fix niggles are sloppy workmanship.

Ill be in contact in the new year, keeping the pillar, too much agro/cost not enough need.

Hello Paul, thanks very much for your review, I will pass on your thanks to Justin & Jason, it's always nice for them to hear the feedback we get about them.

Well its feels like ages since Simon came round(it was early January!) but Im due to have my new doors fitted next week.

Rather excited to finally get them done - means much better security, warmer room above and much easier access for getting the car in and out.

Ill report back once they are installed.
