I'm doing a house renovation and last week finally connected the garage to the mains power. The sparky has installed a supply ready for a new garage door when time / funds allow so will be giving Prestige Doors a yell soon!!
We look forward to offering a quote for you when ready. 👌A question if I may.
Last year I asked a few installers local to me (Southampton area) how much it would cost to convert a double garage with 2 up and over doors into a single door version - remove the supporting brick wall, add a new steel, etc. - and they all said that material costs were sky high, heading up and better to wait.
Example: £4k to remove the pillar, etc. then £3k for a roller double width door.
I would still like to get it done but £7k is a lot to stop me getting sweaty when squeezing the car in to the garage. Have the prices showed any sign of coming down yet?

You should have spoken to us! 🤯 Yes prices are only going one way I’m afraid, but even in todays climate, £7k is very expensive. Last year would’ve been extortionate! As a rough estimate without knowing any specifics, you should be able to do that for around £5,500. A little more if you want to use a sectional door.
Give me a shout if you’d like to explore further or arrange a visit.
Hi David / Simon,
Based on the fantastic customer feedback on this thread i'm interested in having you quote to supply and install an insulated roller door for me but I might be too far out of your area as i'm in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, likely a good 2.5 hrs from you.
If I am too far out could you recommend an installer and ideally a product please? Security and insulation are important factors.
Many thanks :-)

Before I buy a new rear view mirror, does anyone know if the Seceuroglide doors as fitted by Doorman are compatible with in-car Homelink systems? Would be good to have buttons on the rear view mirror rather than fishing around for the remote.
That can be a rather expensive option, however, we can supply a system that will allow you to operate your Securoglide door from your smart phone, and thus, if required, open and close your door from anywhere world wide, via an app. It can also be programmed to auto open when your approaching your home location. Thus no need for Home-link. One of these should work? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meross-Control-Existing-S...

I like the idea of that! I've sent you an email Doorman, moving into a new house that needs a new Garage Door.

Thanks Doorman!I work in IT and our house is fully smart home for everyhing, lights, smoke detector, thermostat, home assistant, plugs, even the water softener... but intentionally not the alarm system or doors. Based on knowledge and experience with both reliability and security, I'm not planning on changing this!
I was just curious to see if Homelink worked with the existing Seceuroglide RF remote but as it isn't, I think I'll stick with using the existing remote in the centre console.
Thanks!
