I'm in! (But not in your bed Nonners)

Is that £35 for a double room with Breakfast then? I'm not bothered about the Breakfast part, but the double bed is very important for accommodating the ladies (if we go somewhere with a bit of class) or common tarts (if we go anywhere in Piccadilly, Yates's etc).

May I suggest we go to the Gay Village? Large choice of better bars, much safer atmosphere(even for the homophobes), largely devoid of scally scum, wide mix of people but still close to the hotel. The cross section of us PHers will be welcomed far better there than in the scally joints. I've too much hair to go in those places to come out alive, I don't have any earings, tattoos, bright shirts, striped Lacoste jumpers, elasticated shell suit bottoms, white socks and a face that looks like its been hit with a spade!

Is there something you are tryig to tell us Trickey?

Your responses are proof that you have never been out in the Gay Village (or certainly not for many years!).
The area has become so popular because it was such a safe, hip and trendy place to go. That meant that heterosexuals (who have never been refused as far as i know, because that's not the nature of the gay community) started to go there. There are probably more straight people than gays/bi's/trannys! But (quite conviently for the rest of us) there are still blinkered straight homophobes who are decades behind the times (including scallies amongst them) and think that they will get chatted up, groped etc if they dare set foot in one of the bars. Don't flatter yourselves, they can tell your straight! Well fair enough, those people can continue to think that, whilst the rest of us will enjoy some of the best parts of Manchester. There are still some hardcore gay pubs like The Rembrandt which I've never been in, but most bars have a diverse mixture of people (except scallies) which is what makes them great places to go.

There are usually a few hen parties, because they think they will be safe and away from straight males. Not so!

So are you open to be educated?

Richard

PS Sorry to be so vocal about this but sometimes the attitudes of others really get me annoyed. If I've jumped the gun, then at least you'll know my opinion on the matter.

PPS All those who met me should know by now that I am not bi or gay and there is no truth in me being Richardette at the weekends.

Sorry Nonners, I didn't include you in what I was saying. We'll drag Pwig kicking and screaming if we have to. In fact if we gag him, put some handcuffs on etc I'm sure he'll have a night to remember

Erm, I might do if more people go. It better be good though because I will be missing out on a brilliant night.

Damn, its a real shame I cant make this, going on hols to France for a fortnight on the Saturday morning. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun, although Mrs BG might have concerns over me going to the gay village. For Christs sake woman, i'm over forty, balding, and have a belly!

The one in Manchester has three floors.

First one has a live band.

Second one overlooks the live band
