That was fun

The car park is actually on the other side of the Trafford Centre. I thought it was the first one you come to (which would be an easier place to meet tbh), but actually if you drive on the Centre's ring-road, and follow the red signs for Peel Avenue, thats where we all met.

That Ginetta was bloody awesome.

Audio clips to follow!

Ok, some audio for you here. I think the next time we do this, I'll have to design some kind of mount to move the microphones up to head height. The audio quality is quite good, but its a little muffled because my body is blocking it slightly to the right, and the seat back to the left.

Oh well, for a first experiment it was quite effective - I think you'll all enjoy these 2 clips. Turn up the volume bigstyle, and make sure you're listening in either prologic/stereo, or headphones!

Amazing how good that Ginetta sounds at 50mph, isn't it?

This is a Chimera 4.0 through the tunnel, this will be improved next time, you should hear more engine and exhaust note when I raise the mic to the correct level:

This is a Chimera 4.0 under a short bridge:

Getting in line in the Trafford Centre

I feel I should make a note that all the cars involved were well within the speed limit and observing the traffic regulations. However, I don't have a dB meter so I can't speak for the noise regulations!

Sounds like a good meeting....

Shame I couldn't make it, but I have the most evil cold that you really didn't want to catch.

I was looking forward to giving the Griffith its first proper blast since I bought it in December and rescued it from a three year hibernation.

It will be a bit more rewarding in the tunnels than the Esprit was, though it certainly won't be as quick around the roundabout at the far end...

See you chaps soon.

Cheers

Pat

No one seems to have mentionned the police? They came into the Romper car park had a look around then left. Current theory is Minimax set off the explosion alarm in the tunnel and they were the anti terrorist squad. Classic comment from auntie Jess was "Well they cant do anything cos we havn't broken any laws". Hem hem which of course it true.

(What is the the penalty for 4 times the speed limit? I ask purely out of theoretical curiosity)

Left PWIGs at 6pm and got in about 45 minutes ago, absoloutely shattered and still feeling a little ill from last night

Big thankyou to everyone i met for being so welcoming, Nonners/BG/Minimax/Pwig especially. I think we had quite a good time on Sat night didn't we?

Record set for most Southern attendee of a North West meet?

Cheers,
Rob.

Sorry Jess, didnt know you fancied a go in it. You can drive it anytime (subject to having the bare minimum cover so its legal).

Or the rather impressive smoking display from the rear wheels of your car

I'm sure it's a fifty limit throught the tunnels. Mind you I drive through them everyday and have ever seen one person pulled near there.... tempting fate now
