M60 average speed camera

I was driving home about 4am on Sunday morning and go on the m60 at sinister island and got off about 3 junctions down for Preston. I forgot about the average speed camera for couple of mins and probs went about 70 then when I realised went down to Between 40 and 50 for the rest. I'm wondering now will i be fined. I've heard they don't work, don't work at night but I can't really see this myself. I've also heard it takes a couple of weeks to come through. As it was New Year's Eve morning, do you think they'll be a chance it does take longer with their being a build up of fines from over xmas?

The average speed is between each gantry, not over the whole journey. They are considering changing it so that in future even if no speed limit reduction is shown, they still check you for 70mph. TBH i always assumed they would do that at some point.
