Thought I'd re-post on here rather than the Classic cars and Yesterday's Hero's forum.

I don't know if anyone will remember as it is going back a long time (1950s, 60s-70s roughly), but can anyone shed any light on the cars once owned by Clive Unsworth of Wigan. As some may know, Clive owned a genuine Jaguar D-Type. This is pretty much well known about even amongst non car minded folk, but many of the other cars he owned seem to be very thin on the ground as regards to info, history etc.

A few of the classics he owned were, from what ive heard, were two Aston Martins, a DB2 and either a DB5 or DB6. The DB2 was owned by Clive's father, and i think the DB5 or 6 was owned by Clive. The DB2 was sold to a dealers in the Cheshire area in the 1960s and part exchanged for something else (no idea what though). I think the DB2 was marroon.

I'm more interested in knowing about the Aston Martins he owned, whether one was indeed a DB5 and what became of them afterwards. Cars such as these should be fairly well known about. As far as I'm aware, Clive wasn't into motor racing so none of the cars he owned were ever raced, incl the D-Type and Lola T-70. He later owned vintage motors which he would often be seen attending local vintage rallies in.

The D-Type he owned is very well documented having been recently auctioned through Bonham's. However, it's the other cars I'm interested in that he owned which, for some odd reason I cannot seem to find any info or history about, particularly the Aston Martin's he or his father owned. I am told that either Clive or his father did own a classic Aston which I believe was a DB2. He also owned a Jaguar C-Type, again this is easy to find info about, as well as an E-Type (no info on that particular car I've been able to find), and tid bits of info regarding the vintage cars he owned in the 1980s and early 90s (a Crossely and a Pierce-Arrow being just two).
