Ok so turns out new members can only post in certain forum areas so apologies if this should belong in suspension but as I'm from the northwest it seemed appropriate.

So my issue is that I have my mg zs 2.0td mk1 on the drive there on gaz coilovers. The car hasn't been right since either erratically grabbing down the road or the rear offside loosing its ride height to regain it once I adjust the dampening back down to zero.

Gaz have tested the coilovers last week said they was fine and needed nothing doing to them....
Felt really nice and was seeming to work until I had alignment done and the drivers offside failed again?

I've tried to set it up again now and noticed that with the colets 13cm from the uniform weld the car sits level but in the arches. Surprisingly this felt smooth but you could hear the tyre on the inside of the arch rubbing (side not top) I then wound the collets up another 2cm and this is where it gets weird....

The metal on metal banging returns and the ride height only adjusted 1cm for 2cm of thread gain, garages have looked and everyone seems to be saying the same thing it's the coilovers,
I bought these in December and havent been able to use the vehicle much since then. I was told by a local garage I needed coilovers as he thought my chassis was damaged..... turns out he had put one of my trailing arm bushes in wrong. Trailing arms where replaced with a donor pair from another vehicle and showed same issues. Poly bushed the entire back end.... issues still remained.

Question is now I've removed the trailing arm issue from the mix and had the coilovers checked over and an ok and mechanics saying everything looks fine with the car chassis what is actually going on??? My working theory is the dodgy trailing arm Bush has caused some internal damage to the shocks perhaps?

I really do believe the coilovers have an issue but gaz say they dont and when I asked if they knew someone local I could take it too that they knew to take a look not a word back after being told "give me half hour or so and I'll find somewhere you can go to"

I've spent hundreds on polybushes and the cost of the coilovers/alignment ect and it just doesnt make any sense. I've had them off myself taken measurements of the dampened rod outstretched and its measures the same.

Alignment has shown no signs of anything bent btw. Does anyone have any suggestions or live in/close to Wigan that can take a look for me?
