Hi all
I fancy having a go at hill climbing just for a bit of fun, anyone know of anywhere within a reasonable distance or Chester please ?
Done track days and fancying something different (one the lockdown is over of course)

Google isn't much help and alot of results of hill climbing suggest I purchase a push bike and some lycra

Nothing what you could say is really close. Some clubs run meetings at Scammonden Dam. (Just off the M62 between Manchester and Leeds) Then there is Harewood as a dedicated venue. To spectate before having a go there is Barbon ( North of Kirby Longsdale, they run 2 meetings a year) Going south a bit there is Loton Park near Shrewsbury.

The big thing is to speak to people before you do anything to your car. There are few threads about getting started on here.

Or if you fancy doing a sprint instead for something a bit closer there is Three Sisters and Aintree

Thanks all, sounds like the requirements for hill climb and sprint are the same.
Sprints in aintree and sisters are close and loton park easily doable too.

I've been reading up on the regs and if I run the abarth I'd just need some race numbers and a homemade timing strut which can be attached to the front number plate mount.

I'm also now an RS clubman license holder, sounds fancy but a free online process.
Just need to sign up to a local club which is about £10 a year

Thanks for all you help, much appreciated

Sprinting at Curborough is good. Location is just off the A38 North of Lichfield.

Do they still hold them at Baitings Dam?

I think it must be about 10 years since they held a hillclimb at Baitings Dam.
