Cheers mate, and if you get stuck behind someone crawling over the speedbumps on the doxey road it will be me.

Fancy a rideI'm sure I can let you have a go at the next NW meet,(dawn won't go in it again she says it's too loud and scary)She should be used to loud and scary ,she's been married to me long enough
I found a big silver box in the boot today,I thought it was a spare wheel cover it turns out to be a 500watt Sony Amplifier, now I know what the 5 big speakers are for.
(I haven't had the stereo on yet i'm addicted to the exhaust note).

Those bumps are HUGE - I was up there today for the first time in aeons - has anyone ever measured them? I've a feeling they are illegally high...

I now have the new Robbie Williams CD so I may turn the stereo on soon, Most of the young lads down the pub are more impressed by the sony xpod speakers than the car(by kids these days).I prefer the car.You should here it coming on the airport run and the matlock meets.

Same here the biggest one at the school is making my exhaust give off sparks, and i've been passed by a daewoo on it, DOH.

Might be worth finding out what the regs are - I'm sure someone on SafeSpeed or Pepipoo will know. I know that if they ARE wrong you can make the bs dig 'em up and put proper ones in!

One day I'll have me one of those. One day.

Speed bumps - max height 10cm. Anything over and they must be corrected.

Thanks for that I'm sure these bumps are illegal then, the full width one outside the school must be 20cm and the rest of the 3 abreast ones are about 15cm.The local buses ground out on them because of the length of the bit in front of the front wheels.

Dug - do you know/have access to anyone with sophisticated measuring kit - measurements taken by a "pro" would be very difficult to for the council to argue with. The next thing would then be to identify if it is the borough or county to present with the (hopefully) inconvenient facts! (I think it's the borough, but I'd ask the county's highways department first IMHO)

Er no, thats the maximum power input - nothing to do with volume. The figure you're looking for is 'sensitivity'.

1100 watts is only 6dB more than 225 watts

AH I see, there is a big silver box in the boot that says Sony Xpod 500watt amplifier so that is the output then?
