Forecast from bbc is for weather to improve after 10am. Now they are usually 3 hours ahead in their 24 hour predictions where we are in Liverpool; add to that the rain shadow effect at the foot of the Pennines in Tatton, and I reckon it will be wet till late morning, say 11ish; then still a wee bit showery, but tolerable, no coats just a brolley handy, till after 1pm; then a lovely warm & sunny afternoon and evening

.... ish

EDIT - Whoops! Just checked. My predictions are correct BUT the wind is a slow westerly, so it'll clear later at Tatton. Should be a nice top down journey home for those of you who enjoy going topless.

Just setting out - if you see a bald guy with a very large beard wearing a green jacket - I'll probably be me - please say hello!

Prof Beard, I've just seen your description of yourself above and I think I may well have caught you in a pic hehe I've cropped the pic as I'm not sure how famous you want to be....look at the very far right of this pic, green welly's (sp?), light brown/cream trousers, dark green coat, bald, impressive beard growth hehe Can you confirm this sighting?

Was there with Her Good Self this time. She has picked up the habit of first damning the P6 and P5 as heaps of old metal and then exhorting "Oh! That'snice! What's that one?" .... it's another Aston DB4 (or, as the case may be, another DB5...) my love. They're very expensive and dont go as well as they look, remember? the opposite of the P5 and P6, dearest heart? " Oh, Yes I DO like them!. I WANT one"

Exit Shadow, bemused look on gob

and repeat further around the grounds

Nope - I was wearing a light green jacket, blue jeans, and green Dox Martens. Who WAS the imposter - I didn't see him!

Some nice piccys there pickle! Especially the chameleon blue tuscan!! Seeing as though its my car, i think she looks pretty good (maybe a touch biased) even though the weather didnt do anybody any favours (it was rubbish) including the cars, Shame it was not sunny so we could have had the roofs off to give people a better look at the motors! Some great cars on the tvr stand, shame there were not any sagaris on show!?
Anybody know what tickets won the raffle on the tvr stand? Still holding on to mine just in case

No afraid not, there was a silver tuscan that was parked next to mine which was in the film but has since been stripped and rebuilt and painted another colour after having all the bullet holes filled inlaugh. So most people coming onto the stand thought it was my car that had been in the film and it therefore got a lot of attention!

Interesting thumbup You must have been sick of explaining that by the end of the day yesterday hehe Maybe the weather put some people off, the TVR display didn't look as full as usual....no sag (although still great!) It was pretty grim weather wasn't it but there’s been worse so it didn’t spoil it too much

hehe I can’t get my head around the model numbers of these classic Aston’s silly You may have noticed the one in the first pic above had a “Superleggera” badge on it, not sure if that identifies it as a bit special? It is something to do with a special lightweight body design apparently. Anyway, a great looking car. Here’s another from the show...

Sexy that Superlegova was

Did you get that yellow E type the car restorer had for sale, LHD, a bloke spent 16 years restoring. It was MINT and I mean mint except for the inside, but then again I guess it was original interior. "Only" £14950. That looked a real buy for someone who gets abroad several times a year. It was for sale by the bloke who was also selling that Healey shell for around £7000 Makes me chuckle .... Then again, here am I wanting to lavish a couple of G's on Vera to make her look fine and run superbly, when if I bought that Healey and just left it in a barn for ten years it'd probably double in price and I could recoup the outlay I'll have to spend on keeping Bluey on the road. You gotta know what horses to back I guess....

Paul - Found a FANTASTIC site from a link on the AM forum - see post I just bumped with the question - which tells us that Superleggera is " A method of lightweight construction patented by Touring of Milan. Put simply, the body frame is made up of a cage of small diameter tubes which is covered by hand made aluminum body panels. This method of construction was used on the DB4 and 5"

Site is by Tim Cottingham. What an achievement. Looks like I'll be popping in there a little bit now & again

I didn't get a pic of that e-type, very nice but I'm not sure about those tyres with the sort of white stripe around them if you know what I mean, love the primrose on the e-type though. I spotted that wreck on the ramp in the lorry, I think the same guy has turned up with similar "barn find" type cars in the past, it seems like everyone fancies themselves as restorers when they spot that kind of thing judging by the attention it was getting hehe

edit - that Aston site is good thumbup ...it seems that one in my first pic may be worth some serious money but I couldn't say for certain

Nice pics Pickle, love the one of our Sonett. Weather was foul especially on the Sat night, but this is what we put up with for our cars, heyho.

Great to put some faces to PH members, TwinCam16 - hope you find the right 900 they are out there just need a bit of searching.

ProfBeard thanks for the company and making us laugh through the showers.

I won on the TVR Raffle again (getting a bit embarassing as they've yet to see the car!) must make sure to give something for next years raffle.

Next one Oulton Park Gold Cup, any PH members please come and say Hi, we might have strange cars but we're not that strange to talk to, but then again

Ah the shame of it! Documented evidence of my Marcos Mantis with the hood up! Although, as has been commented above, the weather was crapola...

Worth reading this thread just for the picture of the duck! laugh

hehe Indeed old bean silly From astonmartins.com...."Genuine DB4 GT's can be expected to change hands for an amount of approaching £300,000, more with racing history. One of the ultimate Aston Martins and a performance pinnacle of the marque." Maybe this is one classic Aston that really does go as well as it looks
