You've all been disqualified as drug cheats - therefore I am in fact first and get the coveted North West gold medal.

A moral victory methinks.

Another one from the land of pies and bitter here

Living in sunny Manchester, busy getting the money together to get a car! Any thoughts on a good, cheap, insurance-friendly motor that's not too boring?

Regards,
Justin

Yeah, I live near Stockport.

Give me some info on what constitutes 'cheap' and I'll try to come up with some helpful advice.

Alternatively, try searching through past topics on this subject, or posting your question on General Gassing.

Something for around £1500 - 2 grand, that's reasonably kind on insurance?

I'm not after a Lamberarri Whiplash or anything, just something that isn't boring

How long has this NW bit been around - was it always here or just never looked at as it was off the page?

Oh and claiming 30th position (bout the same as most of my racing finishes)

I wish! If it were I'd be hunting for a Cagiva Mito right now, but unfortunately I need something to cart some bits of luggage around for work. It also has to cart my other half around, who won't go on the back

I've never noticed this forum on PH before. Would it be a good idea to organise a "local" NW PH'ers meet in order that we could strategise our runs out, plan our noble and democratic response to the scamera attack produced by the nanny society, and to best decide how to promote the idea that people who like cars/bikes are not loutish, beer swilling, curry eating fanatics. Obviously this comittee will have to be chaired by someone that's utterly truthful and has a clean liscence. That lets me off the hook then.

Just been looking through the profiles of the people posting so far, seems I'm the only person left in the North West not driving a TVR...

Good idea - is there a regular meet/social already organised for people in the Manchester-ish region?

I'd certainly be interested in that, as long as it wasn't a week day as I work in London Mon-Fri.
