I think the idea is for the wolley contingent to depart at 9:45 to meet the York element at the A64 / A1 innterchange departing at 10:15 towards Chim_Girl's. At least I think thats the idea

Went out for a drive in the Porker tonight - after working silly hours all week and sooooo looking forward to going for a blast in the 911....am pulling onto the M62 to head to the A1 to go towards Tadcaster on my favourite roads and the engine warning light comes on again.

So, am just about to phone the Porsche help line to arrange a flat bed for the car to be taken back to the OPC for fettling again. Am not a happy chap at all.....am quite sad and sat drinking Stella to calm me down (it is working BTW!).

It looks like zero chance of me getting to Cars in the Park sadly The car is so good, but it is this reoccurring fault that’s blighting it....the car has been parked up a while before me getting it, so these are teething troubles (I hope).

Rods - have left you a voicemail saying the above, sorry I cannot meet you.

Ben - cannot pick you up now sadly, will mail you too to say so.

Yours in a sad, Stella induced stupor

Eh up, I hope you are treating my old baby well, in return I hope she has been behaving herself. Sad I know but I would like to see her again.

Bad news about the car MOD, having had issues with the Tuscan in the first couple of weeks I can understand how you're feeling.

I really hope you'll still come to Cars in the Park on Sunday. I'm sure some car chat and a burger with your fellow petrolheads would cheer you up. You never know, perhaps you could get a couple of passenger rides, instead of being the one giving them.

Come along.....

PS I'm sure there are plenty of solo drivers leaving from our house who'd give you a lift if you wanted to leave your car on the drive.

Gutted for you Martyn, hope it all gets sorted quickly.

I'm flying solo tomorrow so you're welcome to hop in for the ride (although I'm not going to apologise if a Chim 500 feels a bit tame now...)

Oh yes. Steadily working through the faults. This time next year it will be like brand new. It runs a lot better after the major exhaust surgury I performed a couple of weeks ago. (main Cat was blocked solid so I cut the top 1" off if and cleaned it out)

Morning All

Thanks for the kind words. Just waved the car goodbye on the back of a flatbed.

Thanks also for the kind offers of lifts to Bolton Abbey, though I think I will give it a miss as I am not in the best frame of mind and wouldn't be good company.

Hope you all have a good day tomorrow.

Best Regards

Martyn.

Your mates like to see even if you're without your car. What else are you going to do all day Sunday - gardening!?

I told Adam about your car earlier, you now have a seat in the Tuscan, one of us two will blag a lift with one of the solo pilots. Adam mumbled something about showing you what a proper car is like.

Anyway, you have to come, I've got a bacon sandwich with your name on it and a hundred weight of sausages and burgers to slap on the BBQ!

Martyn, thats a total disaster!! Hope you can cope after the stella stupor!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........

Looks like a change of plan for me then!

Jo, what time are the guys meeting at Chez Chim?

Is there any chance of any spare seats being available from Chez Chim over to Bolton Abbey?

Hopefully I can get myself sorted out and I will see everyone tomorrow!

Evening

Thank you so much for the offer of the seat in the Tuscan Jo, with the 'King of the Wild Frontier' behind the wheel It is a very kind gesture.....but I am working tomorrow and can't get out of it now.

Rods, I will bring the Porker book to Pistonfest for you.

Regards the poorly Piggy; I spoke to the service manager this morning who was most apologetic. They are plugging the diagnostic equipment in to the ECU first thing Monday morning to see what is causing the car to behave badly. The service chap is also ringing Porsche GB to try and lever a Porsche loan car out of them. I asked if some offer would made to make up somewhat for the trouble I have had so far, and a free service or some financial offer was mentioned

Have a good day.

Best Regards

Martyn.
