Kerbed one of my alloys a week or so ago & wondered if anyone knew of any companies in Leeds area which carry out repair on alloys ? (18" Spiders).

Found one company called 'Scratches & Scuffs' which were charging £ 45 + VAT per wheel.

Would prefer to use company that someone has had dealings with before.

Used the very same company to repair some wheels on a V6 Clio. Excellent results.

Used them to fix a kerbed 17".

The guy apparently does HHC and the Merc dealer in Leeds.

Quick and good work, can't see where mine was damaged.

Jonny/Andy, how did the re-furbed wheel match with your originals? The reason I ask is that one of my rear wheels is bubbling slightly. I'm wondering if it would still colour match the front wheel if I had it done?

As an alternative, apparently Chips Away can sort out blemishes etc without blasting/coating the whole wheel. Anyone had this done?

The finish and colour match were first class. They have done Renault and Alfa wheels for me and each time, the repair cannot be noticed after a 24 hr drying time and a buff with some light cutting compounfd and then a polish.

I have a kerb damaged 18" spider that is next in line for repair that should be more of a challenge because of the amount of metal flake in the paint - feel confident and hope its not misplaced.....

I also have an 18" Spider that suffered, lets say, a different type of kerb damage and is buckled - anyone know who can repair in the area??

Cheers Jonny.

The chips away fella is going to swing by when he's next passing. If he can't help then it sounds like I've now got a decent back up plan.

Can't help with the buckled alloy I'm afraid but you should be able to get some info on the general TVR forum.

he mixed up the paint in the back of his van for me.

mine was kerbed along a three inch section and he fixed it and blended the paint in to the original colour.

if you get right up to the wheel you can maybe just make out where the work was done but the colour match was excellent and i can't really notice any difference.

he said the wheels he hates most are they lexus bling ones. says they are a nightmare to work on.

Hit a pot-hole and buckled the same wheel so this will no longer be getting done (due to replacement).

Thanks for help though.

Hobo , £45 per wheel is very cheap if he does the whole sand blasting job on them, a friend of mine had all 4 done on his AMG an it cost about £240,having said that they did an amazing job,,he literally pulled up in his Merc Sprinter and did it while he was in his office within about 3 hours, if you are interested let me know an il get you the guys details, Kinda ironic because iv just curbed my spiders on my cerb pulling out of harrogate horseless service centre ,its so bloody tight getting out of there,
