Good choice Jo, the EVO has a very competent chassis set up and will not be that much slower than the Tuscan in real world driving IMHO, and superior in the wet.

Get a sports exhaust on board and you'll be sorted.

Any pics of it yet?

Best Regards

MOD.

BMW M3 Evo Convertible....

I'm sure that mota is both phat and sick, probably wikkid innit as well..

Can you give us all a crash course in understanding Chav in a few months time? When leaving the local Hellfords a few weeks ago a group of young scamps were waiving wildly at me and shouting that my car sounded sick. I've been wondering if they managed to aurally diagnosed my missfire as I'd love to be able to fix it..

Edited to add: Have you seen this Jo? www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?s=113&i=29221&sc=EKYJ

We ended up with the M3 as we wanted a convertible with a decent 0-60 performance, and if we only have it for a few months, isn't going to depreciate faster than a breezeblock thrown off a skyscraper.

Unsurprisingly it is a completely different experience to the Tuscan. Instead of hairline throttle control I've found that it needs a firmly planted right foot before the power kicks in. On the upside it makes 'town driving' a little more relaxing. It’s too early to report on the handling as it has been too wet to think about hooning around corners.

Quad sports exhaust fitted already.

Pictures to follow later today - if it ever stops raining.

Having a power hood is a huge bonus. Actually 4 seats and a huge boot are a bit of a novelty too.

I chased a couple of Z3s and an SLK up the M1 a while ago and could see the rain starting in the distance ahead of us. We decided to make a run for it but got caught in a huge downpour so all shot off onto a slip road to do the hoods. By the time I'd got out, emptied the boot, fitted the hood, reloaded the boot I was drenched and the rain had stopped.

Oh, and the other cars had long gone..

Mine still sounded better though..

you think that's bad? it takes me a full 6 minutes to put my roof on from a standing start! it involves screwing the windows in to the doors which also means when you start to sweat from the heat soak the only way to relieve it is to open the bl00dy door! cue me going up the autoroute a few weeks ago in the rain with the door open and lots of french people pointing!

jo, your new pimpmobile is chipped? what kind of HP does it put out now then - 343 as standard!

I quite like the idea of buying a fast, reliable and dry winter car then selling it when summer comes for a sportscar

OH GOD! what are the odds on being spotted 2500 miles away by a PHer on holiday! I will admit to being slightly loony when I was over there - it the being able to do 150mph with impunity on the motorways!

which carpark? was it the modelo or the one by the castle? I used to hang out at cafe da se next to the castle all day so my ginetta was parked up most of the day...when I left I used to like to "shake the cobwebs off it" a bit down the narrow alley where it reverberated and scared the locals

the supermarket place... we were only there for a couple of days for the beer festival...

So would you recommend the Ginetta route? Have had my eye on a G20 since I saw it do so well in 'beat the radical' in track and race cars...

It is supposed to add another 20hp, also the K&N filters and induction kit mean the car isn't a sloth

ohhhh babay! I didn't have any opinion on them really until I heard one with a sports exhaust and thought: niiiiice! if you get it delimited I should think 175mph is a distinct possibility
