I really, really, don't believe my luck ?
I just phoned the garage who are carrying out repairs on my car. The conversation went along the line of:
[me] Any update on repair yet
[garage] do you want the good news or the bad news
[me] good news
[garage] well the good news is the new bonnet has arrived..........
the bad news is it has been damaged in transit and a new one is require
[me] f@ck

I'll raise your 3 weeks to 7 weeks for a new bonnet and a respray. And counting. Be more like 8 weeks at this rate..
And yes, I found myself in a Porsche dealership last weekend. Test drive's booked for tomorrow.
To be fair, I have spoke to TVR & they have said they will sort it out by end of next week, although not sure I believe them.
If true I am sure all will be forgiven, if not I suspect I will be driving a 996 shortly after christmas.
I do love the TVR to bits, but not having it is making me have doubt's about the whole TVR thing.
p.s. If my heart chose the next car it would be a 355GTS although 20,000 miles per year is putting me off as this amount of mileage seem unthought-out in Ferrari terms.

er, s'cuse me but I'm sure I recollect you saying something about "I know Al's getting a Ferrari, not sure why though", a while back 
Seriously, the 355 GTS is a belter and sounds phenominal with a Tubi on. I went 348 purely cos I prefer the styling.

With regards the 355GTS. Love the car, and as we have 'touched' on before, I am not a fan of full convertibles, but love the 'targa' top kind of cars.
The reason I would be put off buying one is the 15,000 per year I do, which in Ferrari world is unheard of, whereas in the land of Porsche it is not. If only the Tuscan 2 looked as good as the original.
Unless you get a slightly older but ULTRA low mileage one and run it for a couple of years and bring it up to "normal mileage".
If I keep mine for three years, doing c8k a year, I will be left with either HAVING to sell it, as it will have about 44k on or keeping it and just running it and running it.
People who don't drive their Ferraris do them and the marque and general ownership no favours at all in my humble opinion.

Snap! 2000 Tuscan, done 25k miles; slave cylinder seals gone. "Inherent defect", anyone? Only problem is the car was in the middle of France at the time. And still is until they sort out shipping it back.

No warranty on mine, I like to live dangerously. 
Mine has just got to 25k miles. Seeing how heat kills rubber seals, it does seem a bit stupid having the cylinder inside the bell housing.
Got it fixed at Harrogate HC for 725 quid, which is a bit of a joke for just a slave but there you go. At least rest of my clutch is ok, as it had a new one fitted about 12k ago.
