O! Didn't know it was on. Think the timed runs start at around mid-day but practise beforehand. I watch from either the hill where the burger vans are or walk down to the hair-pin leading up the hill.
Both are good places, as is the final hairpin at the top. I've got some pretty good "action" photos from there. The cars can quit often lock up an unloaded tyre, making it look more dramatic!By the burger van is probably the best place to see the full run, the other places are closer to the action, but you can see less of the circuit.
I often take my boys there, as they're car mad. Can't imagine why...
I'm competing on Sunday in car 184 - Jedi. New engine conversion only finished today so fingers crossed its all been worth it and see gains vs last season. Feel free to have a nosey.
Ref viewing it's all good but your best to get down to farmhouse bend, start line, chippys etc as closer to the action ( and warmer on a cold day! ).
Also definitely get to a british championship event on either 11th May or 6th July. This sees the big guns come to town and great to watch the big Goulds and DJs etc battling it out in top 12 run off. Seriously quick!

Saw your Jedi a few times during the day, if I remember correctly you had a bit of a sideways moment towards the top of the hill during the practice runs. Looked and sounded great. Cracking day out. Never realised that such a brilliant venue was only a stones throw away for me. Some great sights and sounds despite the freezing cold wind. I watched from the top of the hill for a while, then by the farmhouse and then wandered to the start finish straight. Left after the second lot of times runs.
I was surprised to see so many stock cars running. Especially the Focus ST and the A3. It's got me pondering over taking my old bus on there at some point.

Your correct with your observations! The first run of the day saw the exhaust blow clean of at the 4-1 collector but once that was fixed it was clear the new engines got a boat load more grunt than previous. Great news however it's going to take a bit of learning as now using different revs, gears, braking points etc. Car feels quicker but we were slower due to lots of sideways moments but we'll blame the cold track for that.
Well worth giving it a go and car sharing really helps with cost and great fun.

They do training days - did one a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. You drive your own car and get some tuition including video feedback. In the end there's not a lot of time driving given the course is less than 90 seconds long, but you're always busy.giblet said:

There's 3 being held at Scammonden Dam this year on the 18th May, 13th July and the 17th Aug.I would do all 3 but the first one clashes with a road rally on the Sat night.
Echo the comment about seeing the heavy metal out in championship round- the last time I went in 2013 the quickest car was pulling 149 mph up the top straight. So if anybody thinks a Skyline is quick..check out a few Goulds etc. Mike Manning's bonkers 650bhp 4x4 Puma is also worth seeing . Viewing is good everywhere but remember you can drive down to the start line from the top car park unless your car is very low. I am often the only car parked down there and it's a superb place to watch as are all the lower corners.

Yep to reiterate, next event is Saturday 10th May with 114 entries so far and nice mix of cars inc some quick single seaters, nice modded saloons and ferrari club etc. The following day Sunday 11th is british champioship round with all the big hitters entered to scrap it out. First round was this Sunday gone at Prescott and was one outright by Alex summers in a supercharged busa engined DJ Firehawk - big news as he's a rising star and one of the growing number of blown bike engined cars taking it to the big indy/champ/F1 V8 engined stars.Great viewing if you can make it
