It's no where near me, but I remember having a meetup with some fellow GT86 owners at Squires Cafe. There is a large field over the road from the Cafe which had loads of room in it. All the bikes seemed to be parked at the cafe on the other side of the road . . .

No chance at squires, too busy with bikes, the food is crap and the place smells like stale biker sweat.

I'm a biker and I avoid the place like the plague!

You beat me to saying the above, I really don't understand why squires has the hype that it does

I went to a Japanese car meet at Squires quite a few years ago now. Venue seemed alright but I didn't spend that much time indoors. I guess the obvious kind of venue we need is a pub with a large car park, similar to Jenny Wrenn Inn but more local.

I'll have a word with RS Tuning regarding availabilty and will get a thread up soon.

Actually stopped by Squires on the way back home from Scalm - mate with me is a biker so wanted a nosey - no idea why after seeing such mice metal with the 'proper' number of wheels confused Anyway, was busy with bikes and a few cars on the other side of the road

would be interested in a dyno session as well

Its a bit far...but the car park at Hartside Cafe on the A686 is pretty big, views are great and the drive there is great, only beaten by the drive from there down into Penrith....just fantastic smile

I've been to a few dyno day's at RS, and generally pretty good won't fit many more than Scalm mind and not much choice for bacon butties!

Unless the Sex Shop over the road has a Cafe...

Anyway, just wanted to say me and the other half enjoyed the trip out to Scalm and having a look at some nice metal, and had a good chat with a few of you guys, look forward to the next one.

With regards to butties I'm sure I can find a catering van type place that will be happy to turn up for us. Failing that I can borrow some outdoor cooking gear from a mate.

I've possibly a location, I'm just confirming with company owner who's also a customer. Plenty of parking. Food, drink etc. Good roads in so will keep you posted.

That sounds good Jacko, hopefully the owner thinks its a good idea. Given the success of this Sunday it would be good to have another venue so we can rotate and give people something different to drive to.

I wonder if you can get them to do a deal on Bacon Sandwiches as those at Scalm were great!

Can't wait to hear if it's a go'er

A car cafe would be great but it's barely viable as a few have said.

But York doesn't just lack a car cafe, it lacks a proper motoring venue. A car museum with a cafe, evening meets for car people, specific nights for car clubs, motorsport screenings on a big screen, go kart track, oh and a group of car people with the will, and wallets, to make it happen.

It was great to see a variety of cars turn up. Here's a quick video of a few cars leaving.

Nice video, shame you didnt get the sound of them goung through the wood,
I was sitting with Sid the owner of Scalm as they all left, we both had smiles on our faces hearing them play.

Loved the colour of the Huracan. I really hope there can be a regular meet some place. However, I have to agree about Squires, too biker orientated.

Sorry im a bit late to reply! My first outing of the year! And having the RS back on the road after around 8 months! Thoroughly enjoyed it, everyone respected the fellow campers on the way in and the bacon sarnies were an absolute steal, im a man of food and they were good. Great turnout cant wait for the next one/next venue

Its ok, its a public blog mate. No, if you read that particular post it's a friend of mine's. It is for sale. £45,000. It's on pre loved or whatever the site is called.

If it's a pub you're after, then what about Tan Hill? Plenty of space to park (Ok some of it would be on the road, but it's hardly busy!) and the drive up there is excellent, especially if you come at it from the Buttertubs Pass. Leave and you can get onto the A66 in 10 minutes.

Looking forward to hearing about the mystery location that Jacko22 is lining up. I hope that he considers the drive to the site, as that is almost as important as the site!
