Is the Butter Tubs a NYTVR meet or a PH meet?

I always find the TVRRCC/PH thing a bit like the old "Peoples' Liberation Front" scene. Only less amusing!

James, its a personal choice thing, but I'm not surprised at how you've expressed yourself. You have a distinctive literary style - I'm not always sure about the content though.

To try and quantify.

We quite enjoy attending some PH events - we know what to expect.

We used to get great enjoyment from attending local TVRCC events, as we knew what to expect. It's changed, and we no longer make the same effort to attend. For some people - us, it doesn't afford the same level of enjoyment as it did previously. Its an opinion and choice thing. We've not given up!!

Are there any other peolpe who feel this way? Dont know, and I dont want to stir up that hornets nest.

Lots of people enjoy the "new" meeting.

Rich,
It was not intended as a slur to you or your organisation of the local TVRCC and PH events. They have always been excellent.

We just don’t get the same buzz as we did. Maybe we've changed a little as well.

I'd appreciate if this post wasn't dissected to find something that's not there. Its just someone saying how they feel about change - that alone shouldn't be criticised.

Enjoy the meeting and events, and dont feel like you've spoiled someone's fun - you've not.

John

No, totally agree with what you said. I guess I didn't explain what I meant quite enough (work can really be a nuisance getting in the way of posting)... To me, they're both about sports-car oriented people (and largely TVR-oriented people, as that's where PH started out) going out for drives, having a few beers, and chatting about engines. Some TVRCC members don't have Tivs any more, some do. Some PH members don't have Tivs any more, some do. The only slight difference is that some PH members might not care quite as much about TVRs, and some TVRCC members might not have quite as much of a clue about the Internet.

The fact that such nuances cause such an issue to some people really does smack of the "Judean Peoples Liberation Front" vs. the "Peoples Front for the Liberation of Judea".

(Then again, I do think the PH lot drive faster )

Just a point Rich... if I don't renew my TVRCC membership, I presume I am not allowed to support the NYTVRCC with my subs either...

but even if i were to remain a fully paid up member of the TVRCC, it seems that I would not be welcome by some of the older school members, shame.

And a couple of general points... cars in the Park was/is a P.Heads event that has happily been included in the NYTVRCC calendar, mainly because Gemini thankfully operates on the principle that it is not purely a car or a marque thing... it's a people thing.

And yes, on the whole, the average speed of a P.Heads run is significantly higher than that of a TVRCC run. That's why TVRCC runs start at 10 or 11am and P. Heads start at 6am and finish in time for breakfast!

Al,
I assume this drivel relates to the post that I had asked not to be dissected to find something that's not there. If that's what you want to do then who am I to argue points based upon misinterpretation.

If that’s what you think I inferred, fine.

Edited to add.
Nice to see you're back at work and hopefully in good health again.

We've only been members for two years, but have also noticed a change. At the end of the day you do what you want, when you want.
If you get bored there are other meets to try and more people to meet.

Not having ago at anyone

Al,
I assume this drivel

Thanks for that comment John.

All I was drivelling on about was the fact that you plainly indicated that you feel sad that the local meet has too many non-TVR people turning up now.

For me, I used to have a TVR and made a some friends that are nice to see now and again, aswell as being a good excuse for a nice drive out.

I for one will still pop over if and when I can, it would be a shame if anyone stopped coming because of a few non-die-hard TVR people.

Unless your feelings have nothing to do with the cars people drive and means something else completely different, if so i have missed the mark entirely and apologise for drivelling on.

Yes thanks John, about 85% back up to speed - two lots of antibiotics, one lot of steroids and God knows how many different types of medicine didn't make a dent over 2 months... one £4.60 bottle of homeopathic pills and it started clearing up within a day!!!
