I would apprecitate appreciate your thoughts John and Stveve on a PM - one side of A4!

Rich some further points to consider with looking at change. (Ensuring effective change management is undertaken is a big part of what I do for a living)

Change is not necessarily a good thing.

Effective changes are usually accompanied by a Strategy. (I wont go into mission statements and goals)

Change should not be confused with evolution.

Before changing something, the product or service should first be understood.

Part of an effective change process will include a debate on the need for same. This will involve the stakeholders as they need to understand the drivers for the change if they are to buy in to the process. Part of a Strategic Change Process would have included a consultation of those effected - the members.

Change can take people out of their comfort zone, but if they are involved in the change process, see previous point, this can be managed.

A strategic change would have probably considered a separate PH meet during the review process.

Now, back to specifics rather than generics….I believe what has happened with the NY TVRCC meeting has been an evolution rather than a planned change as such, I don’t believe any of the above generic waffle is truly relevant.

If however, the majority of people involved feel there is the need to change things because of evolution, maybe some of the above points should be considered.

I don’t want to see the meeting change because a minority don’t enjoy it as much as they did. I never said I didn't still enjoy the meeting.

Like I said in a previous post, a lot of people get a huge amount of enjoyment from the meeting as it is now.

Al,
Apologies for referring to your post in the derogatory manner I did - it was out of order. You maybe did miss the point of my post a little - maybe it was not clear enough. Hopefully what Ive said here will clarify.
I must take something for the hormones. If you've any drugs left, maybe we can negotiate.

John
