In a "it's a small world" moment, my first job was at that retail park at McDonalds, when that Golf would have been brand nearly new.

Yup. McDonalds + Comet, Halfords (?) were all there for phase 1? The later units (co-op where Currys are) were later - 1994, maybe.

Saw a premiere edition Alpine 110 being trailered through Leeds city centre earlier this week. Also spotted a few RS6s on the road recently including one trailering a Ginetta near the Playhouse a few evenings ago.

An R8, wrapped by the look of it, with a wing that was either from a 747 or GT3 race series, can’t decide which, in York this pm.

Came here to post the same! Lovely looking car, certainly on my list in a few years time.

Yes, that’s the one. Didn’t see it at Lotherton, but saw it going towards Tollerton when we were having lunch at The Crooked Billet afterwords.

A very nice homemade pie if anyone’s interested and great chips.

IIRC, where Argos is now, was a Charlie Browns. I don't remember Halfords until they moved in a few years back.

Going around the park, I think there was a pram place at the far left top (Silver Cross?) - now Bensons, Currys, Comet, Northern Electricity (or something like that), Poundstretcher, another electricity shop, Focus DIY, some place that changed hands a lot (furniture store I think) and then Charlie Browns.

The above was all ~1996

I've lived around here for 22 years (not far from the retail park as it happens).

Charlie Browns! Thankyou - I was racking my brains trying to remember.

The first phase was McDonalds (1988 or 1989)? with Comet, Charlie Browns and Focus. Focus was next to Comet in the largest unit. Phase 2 was about 1993 hichh saw the far units being built (Co-Op had the biggest site)

Focus was where Asda are now.

The exterior garden area of Focus was where the newer half of Next is now.

It's all change!

I'm just up the road on Micklefield Lane. My personal hate is trying to get out of that retail park on a Sunday afternoon. It's like a fecking festival!

It's improved quite a bit since Poundworld Plus closed down.

Spotted this little Proton near Kirkstall abbey earlier today. Expected a young lad to be driving but was surprised to see a lady whom I'm going to guess was ~50 (-/+ 10 years - didn't get a good look) which I think made it an even better spot. Wonder if she bought it second hand and doesn't know she bought the GTi? is she driving her son's car? Has she has it since new?
