the day was spent covering a variety of courses around the car park. There were 4 different courses and you had a practice run and 3 timed runs on each course. Every run was finished witha donought. We even had an extra two runs on the final course.

Throttle control and donut abilty have definitely increased.

The Victor sounded good - but was beaten by the Spitfire flypast. If you organised that as well Ted then you are more omnipotent than I already thought!!

Hi all, my wife and I popped down to watch the proceedings this afternoon. Have to say, it looked great fun. I was particularly impressed by the young lad who seemed to be doing a fine job of tackling the circuit - but may not have been old enough to have a driving licence.

Very professional outfit they had there. The dry conditions, I guess, were ideal, if not rather hot! Quite dissimilar to the 'Back Home' TVR autotest in Blackpool 2003 when it was lashing down.

Rich, we missed you - but I certainly did catch the Victor burnouts. Tut, tut these fast planes - all show but seemingly, no go?

Some things are deceptive; he was old enough. Oh and he was a bloody good driver too.

I second all the above comments - a brilliant day out, and great organisation. i can't understand why a region as active as yorkshire PHers had such an indifferent turnout - for what was the most fun you can have in a car without risking Police intervention

Nice bunch of people - and the "young lad" was in fact 18 y.o. and is training to be a jockey.

The added bonus of great weather and a free air display was great, as was the back roads journey to Elvington at 7.30a.m. on a Sunday morning through the villages and farms of West Yorkshire

Next time I shall be a little more aggressive with my driving, as I was a bit tentative because I've never done powerslides etc - but at least I can donut now!!

I came along to spectate with MrsS and it looked great fun. I must admit, the price put me off - thinking for the same money I'd rather do a track day. Having spectated for a few hours I felt I was missing something, and should it happen again, I will be one of the names on the list.
After going for an enjoyable gentle spin at lunch time, I think MrsS would be tempted too.

Must add, my reference to 'young lad' was in no way meant to be derogatory - just had no other way of describing him (just incase he is reading this!). He had quite excellent car control - I was just wondering how much prior experience he has had to do as well as he seemed to be doing? The 'driving by the seat of the pants' mehtod should stand him in good stead to be a jockey.

I popped along to have a look really to see if I fancied doing it myself in the future. I did some autotesting in my youth which was great fun. It seemed the smaller the car the better and more fun it was.

Never been to Elvington before, but it looks like a great facility for the driving side of things. Alot better than Tockwith IMHO.

Out of 16, 8th for me and 11th for Carole. Considering I was 5th after the first round I think red mist must have started taking control of my right foot.

A steady second for me. I'll leave Mrs Bug to make her own comment about where she finished.
