My Focus ST MK2 is due a service.
Current mileage is 101612.
Last service was at 95361.
Cam belt was changed just before I bought it last November. So would be just a basic service oil/filter/plugs/pollen filter.
Last service according to the service record was 18th July last year.
I do my bike myself in my garage but as I can't fit my car up the drive and in the garage I also live on a steep incline plus I've got two daughters who follow me every where it would be far less stressful to just take it to a garage.
Ford charge around £159 according to their website for a motocraft service.
So I was thinking of buying my own quality service kit and taking it to a local garage and watching as service is carried out.
Recommendations for an honest garage around West Yorkshire?

That will go down well.Just get them to supply the parts and let them know what you would like done. I wouldn't supply parts to a garage and ask them to fit, without first confirming it before hand.
I know you can watch a service or MOT taking place, but I get much better results from garages if I tell them that I'm going to leave it with them and come back later, tell them to take their time/no rush etc and just trust them.
Take a mental note of the mileage before you leave it.
There's nothing worse than working on someone else's car and they are watching over you.

You will struggle to get someone to meet those requirements, most will refuse. Current mileage is 101612.

I don't take my own food to a restaurant and ask them to cook it.
Prestige Motor engineers in Ossett are great, they've also always fitted parts I've supplied.
Not sure how popular you will be wanting to watch the service though, that's not specifically this garage, I'd say most places will wonder why you want to watch, its kinda dull watching someone crack open the sump ... then go do something else for 10 minutes whilst it drains etc, but you know... each to their own i suppose.
Anyway, the guys are great, no "acne" apprentices around.. and more than likely they will have more fast/interesting cars (no offence intended !) they could select to test drive if they feel the need, which i'd say is unlikely

Honestly, coming from someone who has worked in the trade we don't view your vehicle as a) special b) a joyride opportunity that puts our entire business at risk and c) an excuse to rob you by not doing the work you've asked for.
Not saying it doesn't happen, but go somewhere reputable and you'll be fine. A bit of trust goes a long way.
