Does anyone know of any cars and coffee or any automotive events taking place in the Wakefield, Leeds or Pontefract area? I’ve not been out much this year and I need something to look forward to.

The Motorist near Sherburn in Elmet usually has something on most weekends.

As you will know, it needs pre-booking and there is a small charge. Keep meaning to go but the photos on Facebook look a bit hit and miss as to the quality and variety of cars. Luck of the draw.

Went for the first time today, decent variety of cars, from a Ultima GTR to an original Micra.
A few classics and some high end moderns, not too many Chaved up ones, which suites me? It was an enjoyable morning and a nice drive there and back.

Was the Micra silver and black? Looked very, very tidy if so (I saw it driving through Sherburn.

It looked like a good mix of things from what I saw coming out, I’m planning on going next Sunday if the weather is decent.

Yes that was the one, can’t be many left. Two young lads in it.
Cars like that interest me more than the Ferrari California.

I live nearby yet never get the time to go at weekends for the meets. I play out weekdays as I pulled a blinder, retired and kept the Mrs working. Hahahaha. Boom!

I emailed the Motorist to ask if the tickets are emailed or posted but they never got back to me. Does anyone whose been know how it works and how long can you stay for?

I don’t think there is a limit on how long, the ticket is emailed, I just showed it to them on my phone.

I believe the principle of the tickets is partly to know who is there for tracing purposes and partly to ensure they can limit the number if they get oversubscribed.

I've been loads of times since they first opened as I only live round the corner, the ticket thing was added post lockdown, they are not strict on timings or kicking people out - its simply a way for them to toe the line regards Covid regulations, and also of course to make a bit of cash.

The 'ticket' is simply an email confirmation to wave at the gate.

You are free to come and go as you like any other day of the week, of course.
