New build houses - who is good and who is bad?

I'd echo that. I bought a DW home (yes, I know it's owned by Barratts) in 2014 and they have been good as gold, they even extended the 5 year warranty on a couple of items due to COVID. Very happy, but others on the same development are having issues and are vocal about it.

I think a lot comes down to your expectations. A house is a big, complex thing and you must expect the odd issue to crop up - it's how they deal with the issue and your expectations is what matters to me.

I used to rent a house off of rouse back in 2010 bloody good landlord and looked after us

I'd rather not publicly shame them, if you are interested in buying and the developer is from Gloucestershire, if you pm me id be happy to tell you if they match the developer you are buying from.
