Tom - with a bit of luck I'll be heading there about the same time you are.. I doubt I'll make it home Friday before 10/11ish so will need a few hours to sort odds and ends out then head off. Most likely mid afternoon.

Probably have to leave midday Sunday as I need to be in Henley early evening, (meeting on a Sunday FFS!)

Have a better idea tomorrow..

We're likely to join up with P'bert and Minimax and arrive later, you're welcome to join our convoy of.......three cars! I think I am in charge of logistics , so rendezvous point is still to be organised. However, you're pretty close to me (Pool-in-W), so a four car convoy shouldn't be too tricky!

If you want to keep your options open, I am happy to let you have my mobile number. Drop me an email.

Probably just as well that you are.. Lets face it, what are the chances of any of us getting there if either Tom or I do the logistics?

We've managed to organise a lastminute break, so we won't be there at the weekend. Hope it goes well, have a great time one and all.

If I can get Tom to answer his phone, I'll be trying to arrange something mid afternoon on Sat, which any latecommers are welcome to join. No point from my poitn of view trying to organise anything sooner; I'll simply not make it..

senhor 'bert and I (plus wildfire) will be meeting up circa 2-3:30pm somewhere north of nottingham, the exact place depends on P.berts satnav (skillfully exempting himself from blame at any navigational mishaps )

See you about 11:30 ish then. I assume A1, M18, M180, A15, A631 to Louth and then the A153 to Cadwell.

Autoroute reckons its 100 miles so about an hour and a bit to get to Cadwell.

I need to pick up a ticket or two on the gate and then the beer can flow

According to my satnav, about 4 inches to the north. Really must RTFM..

Doesn't look like either group will be all that close to Nottingham to be honest. You could head northish towards Mansfield/A1, or Newark and I'll head southish.. Either that, or Lincoln is vaguely doable for both of us.. later to sort..

That route brings them in from the north, the nearest they will get to nottingham is cadwell you will be coming up the 153 the other way from Horncastle.
Tom, your route should be:a46newark lincoln, then lincoln ringroad north right round until you see signs for a158 horncastle, follow that road to horncastle take a left on to the a153 in horncastle cadwell park is about 8 miles up on the right hand sideIf you can't find it give me a ring and I will guide you.(it will help if you know where you are though.

Going to leave work early, should be there by early afternoon, so it doesnt look like I will be tagging along with any convoys. I intend to be set up and comfy with a speckled hen or three before the Notts group meet up enroute at 2-3pm'ish.

Camping still TBA - where can I hide a tent & sleeping bags in the tuscan ?

When I said a bit I was assuming a large bit not a small bit. Given that a 60mph average would mean 1hr 40 and most of the route is either motorway or A road I don't think thats unreasonable.

See you at the pub off the A59/A1 junction at 11:30. I'm stoppong off at the farm shop on the way to get a couple of steaks for dinner.
